We don't talk about the danger of religious couples counseling enough.

Priests / ministers with no credentials acting like therapists for couples, using hunches and vibes to handwave away real fixable problems.

Maybe something like CBT would help, by someone who's studied it and base sessions around some reputable system.

Makes me wonder if my own parents received real therapy and tried practical things if they'd still be together. Instead of "pray together Fridays at noon" and you gotta follow him he's the head of the family and other truisms that do nothing.

I wonder how many couples would have stayed together, or separated instead of staying in a toxic relationship.
