Ok, yep, I found a body donor for my inevitable MFS Jewel. She was affordable because no clothes or accessories and OMG those are actual matts in her hair, which was never washed or removed from the NIB bands, just played with HARD!! Wish me luck, I’m going to give her a wash, probably swap out her eyes for something super cheap and common, like Ruby or Amaya.

Also, this is how my experiment of using RIT Dye-More to dye an Ash brown ended up! Thomas was dyed tan, then tan with orange. The skin is a nice warm brown, deeper than Finn Rosario by a couple shades. I do think the repeat soaks in very hot water have made the doll’s joints a bit looser than Zair’s undyed joints, but they all still work fine. Thomas’ torso is definitely still lighter, and the upper legs, so no topless looks for him!

Thomas currently has I think Phaedra’s eyes? I got a bunch from Ali Express and am not actually exactly clear!?

Ok, I have to share this sweet thing that just happened to me!!
I was on my local Buy Nothing on FB, just scrolling, when a new post popped up: “ISO fashion dolls (Barbie, monster high, rainbow high, etc)”
Now I have Never seen RH mentioned in a Buy Nothing group, so I’m intrigued! I post I’ll DM them, and I do. I say I’ve got a couple Barbies I can give her if she wants. She texts back immediately; she’s at a store nearby, she’ll swing over.

So I grab the Barbie that’s been kicking around after donating her clothes, and have it ready when her car pulls up. She gets out, she’s my age (mid-50s). We chat a tiny bit. The Barbie has clicky knees, she jokes “oh, just like me!” and we laugh. The doll is for her daughter, who is getting back into doing little videos and stop motion with her dolls. Ok, I think that’s cool.

“How old is your daughter?” I ask.
“She’s 22,” she says.
“Hold on,” I say.

A mom in her 50s, asking for fashion dolls for her 22 yr old to make videos? Let me get the back stock!!
I grab OG Ruby, OG Sunny, and OG Violet and dash back out.
“Here. These have much better articulation than the Barbie.”

Mom is stunned grateful, insists I go over to the car and hand them to her daughter myself. Daughter is over the moon. “OMG, I had these when I was little! Thank you so much!!” And the kicker? Daughter’s name is the same as one of my triplet nieces that got me into RH!!! I’m so happy right now!!

I originally bought her as a body donor for Qyla (my airbrush Lamb), but couldn't quite do it. I got her nude second hand, and my husband said "she's totally the hippy friend with pot who follows a band around all summer." So now she and Qyla are friends, and I bought a _second_ donor body (with a bad hair chop and the higher-contrast lip variant)

Rowan was enjoying the warm spring sunshine when she spotted a dandelion! See how sweetly she asked me to pick it for her? And put it in her hair? Now she’s off to frolic!!
