Human hair wigs

Recently diagnosed with breast cancer and would love to get a wig sorted for when I lose my hair. Is there anywhere that offers this in Toowoomba?

30 and just diagnosed with breast cancer — wig + cold capping advice (Toowoomba/QLD)

Hi everyone,

Just turned 30 and I’ve just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m currently based in Toowoomba, QLD and will be starting chemotherapy soon.

I’m trying to get organised early and looking for advice on a couple of things:

Does anyone know where I can get good quality human hair wigs in QLD? I’m happy to travel a couple of hours (Brisbane is totally fine if needed) for a proper fitting.

Are there any funding options, rebates, or support services in Australia/QLD that help with wig costs during cancer treatment?

Has anyone had experience with cold capping / scalp cooling services in Toowoomba? I’m trying to understand if it’s something that’s actually accessible here and what the process is like.

Everything is pretty overwhelming at the moment, so I’d really appreciate any recommendations, personal experiences, or even just pointing me in the right direction.

30 years old, newly diagnosed with breast cancer, being told I need chemo ASAP. Looking for advice on fertility, timelines, and what to expect.

I'm a 30-year-old woman in Queensland, Australia and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a lump in my right breast. The lump is relatively large and I've had a core biopsy of the breast and a biopsy of a lymph node under my arm.

I've now been referred to a breast cancer specialist, been told I need a PET scan, and that chemotherapy needs to start as soon as possible as it is advanced.

The part I'm really struggling with is that my husband and I got married in February, I turned 30 in May, and we were planning to start trying for our first baby in September. Having children has always been part of the plan, and suddenly it feels like that future has been thrown into complete uncertainty.

I don't yet have all the details about my cancer subtype, staging, or treatment plan. I'm still waiting for specialist appointments and more information.

I have a few questions for anyone who has been through something similar:

• Were you able to do egg retrieval or embryo freezing before starting chemotherapy and how much did this cost?

• How much did fertility preservation delay treatment, if at all?

• How long were you advised to wait before trying to conceive?

• Looking back, is there anything you wish you had asked your doctors right at the beginning?

I will be getting treatment at the Saint Vincent's Hospital in Toowoomba. Does anyone know somewhere that offers cold capping?

To be honest, I'm still trying to process everything. A few weeks ago I was planning babies and now I'm discussing PET scans and chemotherapy. It's all happened very quickly and I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's walked this path before.

Help.... mortgage.

Getting fked by NAB atm. 7.76% variable on approx 320k with 24yrs left. (Recently come off fixed)

No offset or redraw.

They offered today 6.7% fixed 1yr.

I am needing to add 30k for renovations, which in total will be 50-60k. I have the cash there for all of it but don't want to use all my money... so thought do a partial cash/loan.

They suggested adding an offset.

I don't really know anything about loans but was always under the impression offsets were not good.

Purchased for $400k. Worth minimum 880k.

Thoughts? What are my options please...
