I’m currently on the AM4 platform and mainly play competitive games.
Originally I wanted either a **5700X3D** or **5800X3D**, but the prices right now feel way too high.
I also found a **5500X3D** on AliExpress for around **$250**, but honestly it doesn’t feel like a great deal to me.
My questions are:
Do you think the prices of the **5500X3D**, **5700X3D**, or **5800X3D** will drop in the coming weeks or months?
AMD recently brought back the **5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition**. Could that increase supply and lower prices, or is the opposite more likely?
If you were in my position, would you buy now or wait?
For context, I mostly play competitive titles (high FPS is my priority), so I’m trying to get the best value upgrade for AM4

I’m currently using an AM4 motherboard and I’m trying to decide between the Ryzen 5 5500X3D and the Ryzen 7 5700X3D.
The 5700X3D is quite a bit more expensive where I live, while the 5500X3D seems like a much better value.
For those of you who have used either (or both):
Is the gaming performance difference actually noticeable?
Is it only a few FPS in most games, or is the gap much bigger?
If you were buying today, would you spend the extra money on the 5700X3D or save the money and get the 5500X3D?
Do you think the 5700X3D is worth the price premium, or is the 5500X3D the better value?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people with real-world experience rather than just benchmark numbers

The fact that Gooseworx used to work at McDonald’s and now her work is getting over 1 billion views, and the impact she’s had on so many people, genuinely gives me hope in life. I’m so proud of her and amazed by her success. She created such a great series.
I think I’m really going to miss Cane and Kinger, to be honest. And Pomni reminds me a lot of myself tho😭🥀
