5800x to 5800x3d worth the upgrade for gaming?

I want to upgrade my computer. I have a 9070xt gpu along with 64 gb ram. I dont have the money for a am5 setup taking into consideration the ram prices. So, is the x3d worth especially for gaming and sometimes streaming?

Thanks

Upgraded from 5600x to 5800x3D built a new case with new PSU

Made this new Stay Puft case with Corsair 3500x, and Thermalright fans. Thermaltake Arctic PSU. The build is great and runs amazing. My 15 year old thermaltake PSU was finally dying, so this upgrade made a huge difference on 2k gaming.

Ryzen 5800x3d or am5 (please read)

I have a 2700x and 3060ti with 32gb ddr4. I mainly play cs2 and I have a 240hz woled monitor 1440p. My cpu is bottlenecking and I’m not getting above 200fps

It’s very expensive to get a new MOBO processor and 32gb Ram (£750) plus the expense of a gpu and power supply.

I was thinking of getting the 5800x3d and over time getting a 5070 or 9070.

From what I’ve seen is that if I want to get the 5800x3d my gpu will then bottleneck but my fps will increase closer to my monitor but 1% lows still won’t be close to the hz.

I suppose my main questions are.

Would a 5800x3d and good tier gpu manage cs close to my monitor specs (mainly 1% lows being around the 240 mark)

Am I better off waiting to get am5 7800x3d but unsure if it’s pointless just for cs and gta 6 (when it does come out)

Any experience with a 5800x3d would be great.

Upgrading from Ryzen 5 5600: Is a used 5800X3D worth a $120 premium over a used 5700X3D?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently on a Ryzen 5 5600 and want to upgrade to an X3D chip to max out my AM4 setup for gaming. I'm looking at the used market in my area, and the prices are:
Used Ryzen 7 5700X3D: ~$250
Used Ryzen 7 5800X3D: ~$370

There’s a pretty big $120 gap between them here, even for used parts.
Is the 5800X3D actually worth the extra cash, or should I just grab the 5700X3D?
Thanks!

Where's my X3D gang at?

Finally upgraded from a 3900X to a 5800X3D. Bought it used for £238 and prob made the best payment for AM4.

Undervolted the cpu to -20 on all cores. Having smoother and reduced latency is just amazing.

Rest of the specs to the the people wondering: 32GB @ 3600MT 18CL and an RTX 3070 😌

Upgrade advice needed

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to upgrade my PC and I’m not sure which route makes the most sense.
I have about $1,500—maybe a little more

My current PC:
Ryzen 5 3600
Gigabyte B450M S2H motherboard
16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4-2666 RAM (I can try overclocking it)
RTX 4060 Ti 8gb
1080p monitor

I’m thinking about getting an RX 9070 XT and moving to 1440p, but I’m stuck between two options:

Option 1: AM4
Ryzen 5 5600/5600X
Keep B450 motherboard
Buy a good 1440p OLED monitor

Option 2: AM5
Ryzen 5 7500F or maybe 7800x3d if needed
B650 motherboard
32GB DDR5
RX 9070 XT
Сheap 1440p IPS monitor

My main use is gaming. I play both AAA games and some competitive games, but I’m not trying to chase 280Hz.

Would a Ryzen 5600 be a noticeable bottleneck for the RX 9070 XT at 1440p? Is it worth spending extra on AM5, or should I put the money into a better OLED monitor?

Make that 5800X3D upgrade!

I decided to jump into the hype of the 5800X3D due to not wanting to dive into the AM5 platform yet. I went from a 3700X to a 5800X3D paired with a 5070Ti. Absolutely worth the upgrade. More FPS, no more stutters in high demanding areas and can now play my games in high/ultra at 1440p. One issue I did run into was that I needed up update my bios to the latest revision for the 5800 to work, so if you haven’t updated your bios do that and then swap the CPU.

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WIFI
32GB RAM
5070Ti
5800X3D w/ MX-7 Paste
NZXT Kraken AIO

I think I’ll be solid for a while until I’m ready to upgrade to AM5.

Best price to performance Ryzen CPU?

Currently using the Ryzen 7 5800x3d, but I am planning an AM5 rebuild, I have a 9070xt gpu. I’ve heard good things about the 7800x3d, but wondering if paying the extra money for a 9800x3d is worth it? I was thinking also the 9850x3d, but heard it’s really not that much of a performance boost over the 9800x3d. PC is used mainly for gaming

Is it worth upgrading from 5700x3d to 5800x3d?

About a year ago, I upgraded from a Ryzen 5 5600x to a Ryzen 7 5700x3d. I got lucky and got one on Alixpress for $125 & actually sold my 5600x for $125. So the upgrade was free.

Wanting to make this pc last as long as possible because not wanting to go AM5 anytime soon.

Now that the 5800x3d has been re-released is it worth upgrading from tge 5700x3d to the 5800x3d. Then selling my 5700x3d.

Currently have an ASROCK B450M Pro4 with Ryzen 7 5700x3d, ASROCK RX7800XT Phantom Gaming 16gig OC, 2x16 3600 Ram, Corsair Cx650M PSU, Thermalright Peerless Assassin, 1tb NVMe as main 2tb 870 Evo as Gaming storage then added 2nd 2tb NVME as more storage for games, movies and torrents.

Ryzen 5 5600G - 3933 CL19 RAM + 2500MHz iGPU OC | Looking for More iGPU Performance

Hey everyone,

I've been spending the last few days overclocking my Ryzen 5 5600G and I'm curious how much more iGPU performance I can realistically squeeze out of it. So far everything has been completely stable and temperatures are good.

System

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
  • Motherboard: ASRock B450M Pro4 R2.0
  • Cooler: Aftermarket air cooler
  • PSU: 450W

Memory

Kit

  • Brand: Crucial
  • Model: CT8G4DFRA32A.M4FB
  • Capacity: 2×8GB (16GB)

Stock

  • 3200 MT/s
  • JEDEC timings

Current OC

  • 3933 MT/s
  • FCLK: 1967 MHz (1:1)
  • Timings: 19-21-21-21-38
  • DRAM Voltage: 1.45V

Integrated Graphics

Stock

  • 1900 MHz

Current OC

  • 2500 MHz
  • 1.40V

CPU

  • AMD Software: Adrenalin Auto OC enabled

Stability

  • Stable in gaming
  • No crashes
  • No artifacts
  • No driver timeouts
  • Good temperatures under load

I'm mainly trying to maximize the performance of the Vega iGPU before eventually getting a dedicated GPU.

Was I cooked to begin with?

I tried to upgrade my pc with a Ryzen 7 5800xt. Things seemed to ok but the temp was running a bit hot with my aio(idle temp was 55-60°). When I tried to play cyberpunk it seemed ok for couple minutes but then it seemed like it crashed my pc restarted. Thought it was maybe power spike issue, so I tried under volting path followed up by an easy Fortnite test run. Same thing happened…again. Thermals ran in the 70° but this time after the crash I tried checking the cause of crash and found a WHEA memory issue. I isolated the lower clocked ram and ran the faster speed. This time pc started to have boot issues. Put everything back together and put my old cpu back in and now everything works as expected. Ended up now in the returning the chip process. I was thinking it could be a bad cpu, shrimply a b450 mobo, or the ram mismatch speed. What do yall think?

Ps. Sorry for grammar got stoned after big sad

My current build is a
Ryzen 5 3600
rog strix 2070 super
32gb ddr4 ram (1066mhz and 1200mhz)
650watt psu

Who made the switch and now is considering new coolers?

I ran a DeepCool AK400 ZERO DARK on a 5800x.

Undervolted and beautifully cool.

New x3d is a toasty boy. Heat spikes are taking a while to get used to.

Cooler is keeping pace. Prime 95 max heat test is too much but cinebench stabilises at 80c.

Still a bit warm.

Is peerless assassin still the darling?
