any ideas on how to make a teen music analysis class interesting?

Hey everyone!

First of all, I want to clarify that I am not a teacher, nor do I have any formal qualifications in music. I work as a children's BHT, and I'm hosting a group for teens this summer focused on music analysis and self-expression. In our sessions, we’ll discuss how music can be used as a coping mechanism and share songs that remind us of significant moments in our lives. Along with these discussions, we’ll incorporate activities like bracelet-making and journal decorating. This will last once a week for the entire summer... so I'm worried about boring them or about repetition by the 3^(rd) session.

I want to make this experience even more interesting! I remember taking a music and pop culture course in my early college days, and I really enjoyed it. How can I make this group more fun and engaging for the teens?

When do you leave a job after superiors continue to not respect you?

I am a new grad, going into therapy in the long run, and am currently doing Behavioral Health Technician work with children in an after-school setting. My role is to provide socio-emotional support while connecting children and families to resources that can aid in all aspects of their care, mostly physical and mental health.

Since starting this job in Feb 2026, I was initially placed in a super hostile work environment at a school (I am contracted to work in select schools and after-school clubs). They told me that they did not want me there, and that I was to be seen and not heard, and not to interact at all with students. I was almost written up on my 3rd day for assisting a student who had "shut down" outside, went completely nonverbal, and "frozen" for 90 mins in 95-degree heat outside. I was told that placement "loved BHTs" by the way

I was then moved between two different sites. One of them also told me that they did not need me there, and are icy whenever I greet them in the morning. They don't give me tasks or provide me with ways to help, although they told me that if I were there, the least I could do is show "initiative". When I try to help out, I'm told I'm not needed.

At my second site, I had an interaction with a student who attempted to assault me while assaulting another staff member and cursed me out. He was throwing things that almost hurt other children, and his parents did not report to us any mental challenges or life experiences. When I told my superior I had to document/report this, he said I was making his life hard and, after arguing with me for 15 minutes, stated, "This is why all of our sites don't like you BHTs".

Although I needed this job for the experience in the long run, this is not an environment I feel I need. It would be smart to stay for the experience, but respect is huge to me. Am I making this a big deal when it isn't?

are my nip piercings finally rejecting after 4 years?

i have had my nipple piercings since 2022. i change my piercings about twice per year since getting them and always use titanium jewelry. no issues at all.

recently within the past month, i felt like my piercings were becoming so itchy and irritated. i wld wake up to so much crust around them and puss, like seen here. this is even though i had been cleaning them regularly with saline solution.

i went to my piercer for a consult , and she told me to start applying tea tree oil to my piercings. used it for 3 days and my piercings were sooo itchy. wearing anything (a bra or shirt) felt impossible. then up until 2 weeks ago, it seemed like my piercing balls were SINKING into the my skin (i had curved barbells). i changed 2 days ago to a longer bar and titanium steel and this is still the output even after cleaning them 2 times a day and using oil.

idk what to do next but im thinking my body is finally just rejecting them now????? idk

Hi everyone, broke college student here, and I'm in the process of purchasing my first ever (used) car.

I did the pre-approval for a car, and before starting the purchase process, it said:

- $341/mo

- 17.99% apr

- 60 months

After starting the purchase process, it has now jumped to:

Monthly payment

- $420/mo

- 19.07% apr

- 63 months

Has anyone encountered changes like these? Should I move forward?
