I bought DSS Neon Nights when I first started collecting keyboards, but I didn’t realize it was 40s-only 😭 I’ve been waiting to mount it ever since, and it’s finally time.

Duo40’s compactness, solid black ano/black PVD case, and rainbow PVD weight make it a perfect match for Neon Nights — better than I could’ve expected when I first got the set. Now that I’ve seen how good DSS Neon Nights looks mounted, I really want a full-size set…

This is a Plywrks Spyder TKL with KAP Santa Llum keycaps in the Naixement colorway, Keygeek M3 switches, and Knight v4 stabilizers. I just received the keycaps from Bowlkeyboards, and they were worth the wait -- they are so vibrant and juicy, and the matching desk mat is 🤌I think there are still some sets in stock -- I really recommend the set if you're curious about KAP keycaps.

I just got my KAP Santa Llum set and desk mat in the Naixement colorway from Bowlkeyboards, and I am blown away. I have it here on a Plywrks Spyder TKL in dark green + raw brass with Keygeek M3 switches and Knight v4 stabs with a dual mount (top mount with an oring).

Both the set and the mat’s colors are so juicy and vibrant — definitely worth picking up if you’re curious about KAP. There’s a red colorway as well called Resurrecció, both colorways look amazing though I’ve only seen pictures of Resurrecció.

I’d say KAP’s texture is smoother than GMK’s CYL profile, but not as smooth as a MW, KAM, KAT, or PBS. It’s almost like the finish of a PBT (fine light texture) but without the “dry” sort of feel that PBT has. The walls also feel thicker than GMK’s CYL — I think CYL’s walls are 1.5mm and KAP’s are 1.7mm, so that makes sense. Gives a fuller clack, I think. Anyway, thanks to Bowl, Keyreative, [Edit: designer L'Ortiz,] and everyone who contributed to this unique set. It was worth the wait!

A truly beautiful board. The bottom case is 5 axis CNC sculpted clear coated copper, and its curved inner body makes each keystroke resonate. I paired it with HMX Lotus switches and DCS Intro Beige keycaps, and the result sounds clacky yet rounded. It's a really lovely instrument.

I've had this little artisan for a while and finally found the perfect place for it. The leaf's color and DCS Richat are a perfect match with Derivative's clay case.

I'm also really enjoying these HMX Lanikais -- they're linear switches that have a grainier feel, almost like Kailh Calligraphies with a slightly softer bottom out (but not nearly as grainy as, say, Nixies). They have 45g actuation force, 53g bottom out force, and 3.7mm total travel, and the bottom housings are made of P2, which is nylon with 30% fiberglass. This gives them a nice crackly sound and a firm, but not harsh, bottom out. The top housings are made of nylon and the stems are POM. I notice very low stem wobble. If you like a slightly grainy, medium-weight, crackly, medium-pitched linear switch, I highly recommend the Lanikais to you.

Managed to grab a DCS flex kit aftermarket, and I'm very pleased with it. This Green VBV colorway is sooo beautiful in person, and the legends are crisp and clean. I'm hoping more of these kits pop up in different colors -- HMU if you know any in need of a loving home 😉
