Found my DVD collection

I am early Gen Z but I was a huge fan of the show growing up watching it on TV. When the different seasons started releasing on DVD from around 2005 to 2007, I made it a goal to collect them all and eventually did. Some I got online and some were from stores, although I cannot remember exactly where anymore. Also ignore the red coloring in some lol.

How do you feel about the current Adam and Billy?

Both have been recast a few times but the most notable versions were probably played by Michael Muhney and Billy Miller, who most people would say really put those characters on the map. But at this point, Mark Grossman and Jason Thompson have actually played the characters the longest out of everyone, so how do you all feel about their portrayals?

Personally, I think they are both good actors. I honestly think the bigger issue is the writing and not the actors themselves. Most of Jason’s time as Billy has been under JG, and all of Mark’s time as Adam has been under JG too. So I sometimes wonder if things would improve for both characters if the writing direction ever changed.

Theories about the Olsen twins interview feel exaggerated

I keep seeing that 2010 Mary-Kate and Ashley interview with Ellen resurfacing where Ashley mentions one of her earliest memories on the show was being in the shower with Dave, and now people are making all these theories out of it and saying Ellen switched the subject fast. Maybe it is just me, but I honestly did not think anything deep of it. The first thing that came to mind was that scene with Joey and Jesse trying to bathe Michelle for the first time. I feel like actual fans of the show would immediately know what she was probably referring to. To a point I guess I can see it from an outsider perspective but people keep taking that out of context and now they are even doing the same thing with Bob over the bathtub scene with Danny, Nicky, and Alex.

Soapy podcast discussion

Anyone else watch the Soapy podcast with Greg Rikaart and Rebecca Budig? I feel like it started off pretty strong, but now it kind of feels all over the place. I am trying to give it the benefit of the doubt because I am not sure if things are being edited down heavily or what, but it feels like the guests barely even touch on soaps. I just watched the recent episode with Sean Kanan and he only briefly talks about B&B, and there was barely any mention of GH at all. I think the name of the podcast is what makes it feel a little misleading or disconnected from what you expect going into it. What are your thoughts on the podcast?

An alternate universe casting idea

First off, no disrespect to Throrsten Kaye and Rebecca Budig. This is just wishful casting and fun thinking, but does anyone else think Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso would make a good Ridge and Taylor? They are obviously already a well established supercouple from Days, and they are also closer in age to Ronn Moss and Hunter Tylo.

Chelsea character discussion

What are all your thoughts on Chelsea and do you consider her more of a heroine or villain? I know people have a lot of mixed feelings on the character. I am kind of neutral on her, but sometimes I wonder how MAB would have developed her if she had stayed. She introduced Chelsea as a con artist and then not long after JFP took over and turned her into more of a forced heroine. Then all the different writers in between before JG came back mostly kept her that way. I kind of feel like it is similar to Phyllis where they tried to push her into heroine territory too, but Phyllis still kept more of an edge compared to Chelsea.

So I’m currently in the process of applying and interviewing for jobs after being laid off, and the last time I interviewed was at the end of 2022 so it has been awhile. I received a Microsoft Teams interview invite and noticed there are 4 different invitees listed all from the company, plus the invite itself came from another person as well. I am wondering if they are just CC’ing other management or if I am actually being interviewed by all those people at once. Has anyone had similar experiences or insight on how these usually work?

After watching the Michael movie I started looking more into Michael Jackson and I feel like I had a completely different understanding of him growing up.

I am early Gen Z so I knew who he was, but most of what I saw was jokes, memes, or people making fun of him. Like how he was portrayed in Scary Movie, the Macaulay Culkin stuff, comments about his appearance and skin color, and just constant talk about controversies.

Now actually learning about his life, his upbringing, and how the media treated him, it hits different. It makes me appreciate his impact more and also kind of wish he was still around today. I feel like he deserved a lot better than what he got.

Next year marks 40 years since Full House first aired, and I was wondering if anyone would want to see some kind of anniversary special or something like that and if you think they would actually do anything. I feel like the cast has stayed pretty close over the years compared to a lot of older sitcoms, so it seems possible, and it could also be a nice way to honor Bob Saget. Curious what you all think or what you would want to see.
