Intaglio Dog Butt

Zinc plate. Aquatint. Watercolor on the last one.
I think I’m going to soft ground a pattern into the background for my editions, but I’m pleased with how it came out!!

Dear folks who want to switch careers and become teachers:

Information literacy is an essential skill for the modern teacher.

Some Google terms you can try:
“Alternative certification in [your state]”
“How do I become a teacher in [your state] without an education degree?”
“[your state] department of education licensure requirements”

Maybe it’s just learned helplessness fatigue from being a teacher, but if you can’t figure out the most basic steps you need to take without coming here and asking, you probably aren’t going to be able hack it. Problem-solving and continued learning/reflection are what separates the successful from the struggling in this field.

Come here and ask for anecdotes and advice based on people’s experience. Don’t ask them to do the very basic legwork of telling you the licensure process. Google it.

My stepdad passed away last week. He illustrated this book, published by HarperCollins in 2011.

This was his only children’s book, but he also illustrated for Muse Magazine. ‘Dude’ is out of print now, so copies are a little pricy online, but if your library has a copy, maybe check it out and while you read it, put some positive energy out into the world for a really lovely man who was very talented and very loved.

I know the answer, but I’m curious what you guys would guess for old lady pearl.

I’ve had her 12 of her 13 years. I had a wisdom panel done 12 years ago and an embark done this year, which was consistent, but more detailed. For a long time, when asked, I identified her a a mix that I know she isn’t because I feel like it painted a clearer picture of her behavior and size. She’s about 30 pounds.

ISO mobile mechanic

I have a non-running box truck (1995 Chevy) that I have been using for storage that I would like to get running so that I can sell it. It cranks, but doesn’t start. I replaced the battery like 6 months ago, but the situation remains the same. It came with a distributor in the cab (I bought it at auction filled with stuff), but it’s unclear to me if that is the old distributor from the prior owner trying to get it running by replacing or if it’s a part they bought, but didn’t get around to replacing.
Unfortunately, the last time I tried to work on it, the new battery was extremely dead and when I tried to pull it out to plug it in, I could not get the hood open. That was a few months ago and I haven’t tried to work on it since.

I really do not want to put a lot of money or energy into this truck and will scrap it if comes to it, but I feel like it’s probably worth a shot before I send it to Valhalla.

I had a great mobile mechanic that I liked, but he hurt his hand and then stopped replying to my texts. I also have some electrical quirks with my own truck that I would love to get sorted a lot at some point, so I would love to find someone who I could continue to use down the line.

I’m located in Swansea (48th and Vasquez). Ideally, I would love to find someone in the neighborhood to work on it, but I’m not married to that.
