What's the deal with the Prospect Park peacock?

Recently, I was walking along Flatbush when I hear a drawn out caw and looked to see a peacock sitting on top of what I'm assuming is the gate to get into the Prospect Park Zoo. It was above the height of the surrounding fence, and it didn't look like there was any sort of netting, so I'm assuming the peacock could have freely gone anywhere.

When I looked up whether the zoo even has peacocks, I found a news article from 2020 about an incident when the peacock broke out and was wandering the streets. How has this happened on multiple occasions, and is the peacock not a flight risk?

It's getting into strawberry season. Favorite strawberry desserts available now, or restaurants you're keeping an eye on to see if they come out with something for this year?

Mine would be:
- the strawberry passionfruit tart at Hani's
- the strawberry tart at Lysee
- the strawberry Danish at Fabrique

- if Wildair does a strawberry version of their mille feuille, I will be all over that (although it looks like they do have some strawberry sundae currently)

Other best of strawberry desserts?

Why does the F always stop or slow down between Bergen and Jay St in Brooklyn?

I've lived along the F for a while now, so it's the train I ride the most frequently. I don't remember noticing this happening before, but a few years ago when they rerouted the F to run along the E from Midtown to Queens for a few months, I noticed that the train suddenly almost always stopped or greatly slowed down between Bergen St and Jay St Metrotech in Brooklyn. I assumed that it was some sort of traffic or bottleneck situation somewhere along the line related to construction and that it would go back to normal once it ended, but it's now a few years later, and I feel like this slow service between those two stations has stayed consistently bad and has never gone back to how it was before. Can anyone explain why?

Are there any good restaurants that have spring pancakes (chun bing; 春饼)?

So I asked this once before, and I think most responses said Peking duck restaurants. My understanding is that chun bing are usually larger than the pancakes served with Peking duck. More like the size of a tortilla. And the thing to do is order a bunch of dishes, and then you basically like DIY your own Chinese "burritos" by mixing and matching whichever fillings you want from the dishes you order.

Someone mentioned some place in the Flatiron, either Auntie Guan's or Grandma's something, but I didn't make it before they shuttered. But that place also had it on the menu with a specific, pre-selected filling. I also found a place wayyyy out in Queens that had it on the menu, but it disappeared soon after I found them. Junzi used to have them as a carb option, but I walked past recently, and it's not an option anymore.

I really like the idea of getting to choose your own fillings. Are there any restaurants that are at least pretty good that have spring pancakes as an option on the menu?

Any restaurants where you can get conkies (NOT cookies)?

Culpepper's was on my list of places to try for their conkies and pone, but there was a post on r/Brooklyn that they've been shut down. I found another restaurant for the pone, but are there any other places where I can try conkies?

Yelp keeps pulling up cookies [frustrated eye roll]. Google maps is only pulling up 3 places, one which is Culpepper's, one which is a catering business, and the other which doesn't have it on the menu.

I just found out about Open Stages happening in Park Slope this weekend, which sounds like it will be kind of similar. I know that a lot of the parks will host performances throughout the warmer months, although in a different way and not in the same scale as a one-time event like this. Are there any others that might be less formal than some of the outdoor classical concerts but easier to find out about ahead of time than buskers?

Garlic noodles always sound so simple that I never order them, but I had a really delicious bowl of them at Native Noodles in The Heights recently. What other places make them where you really think, "This was worth ordering," when dining out?

I'm so boring and 99% of the time always buy the same bagel flavor. But I just found out that Terrace Bagels has a blueberry bagel with this "super cinnamon" coating, and I'm now wondering how many other bagels I might be missing out on. What other interesting bagel flavors have you found that you have to go to specific shops to get?

I bought some small picture frames, and I want to start collecting smaller art prints that I'll rotate in and out of the frames. I'm looking for something around postcard size because I think that's generally a common, standard size, and also because there are some really gorgeous postcards out there that are also worthy of framing.

When I was looking around the Renegade Craft Fair, and most of the prints I saw were larger, but I don't think finding people selling stuff in greeting card size is too niche an ask. I already know some of the museums and other city institutions that are good places to find more interesting postcards, but what are some places where you can find art prints that are around the same size?

I obviously don't know a guy and am not part of Mango What'sApp, so I tried one of those online sellers before. It was pricey but worked out well a couple times, and then they tried to scam me last year, so I'm done with them. I've also seen people say sometimes in Jackson Heights, but I don't want to travel out to Queens without at least a lead on any specific stores.

Can anyone recommend any stores where you have seen different varieties of South Asian mangoes besides Alfonso?

I noticed this for a couple profiles this week. One of them showed mod-removed comments in the mod log, but when I click on the comments tab, it shows zero activity for my subreddit. But I can click through and see the removed comments in the original posts.

I also just tried to look at a mod log by clicking through from a comment on a post, and that shows nothing. Zero posts and zero comments, even when I change it to "all communities".
