Postpartum sadness at 7 months?

Does anyone else ever get pangs of sadness where you imagine someone hurting your child in the future? Because I know life isn't all rainbows and butterflies and normal bad things happen in life.

It really makes me so so sad to imagine sadness happening to my baby. And I don't want to imagine it but it's almost like intrusive thoughts. Like I get the visual of her face crying and it makes me want to cry.

I don't know if it's just postpartum hormones as I am 7 months pp. But I randomly get these sad feelings. Randomly in the day but particularly at night.

I am also particularly scared of the world for my baby because of recent news. I just want to wrap her in bubble wrap and keep her with me forever which I know I cannot. It doesn't help that I've had to get daycare sorted too.

Anyway just venting late at night to see if anyone relates!

Swim nappies - newbie questions!

I’ve signed my 6 month old baby up for a swim lesson trial and I’m trying to figure out the whole swim nappy situation 😂

I’ve seen people online saying they double-layer, and some swim schools apparently mandate it, but my swim school doesn’t mention anything about it on their website.

Do you usually do a disposable swim nappy underneath a reusable swim nappy? Or is a reusable swim nappy on its own enough?

Also, if you’re using a Happy Nappy/reusable swim nappy, do you put swimmers/swimwear over the top, or does baby just wear the Happy Nappy on its own?

I bought a Happy Nappy and a bodysuit swimmers.

Is it still worth getting a credit card for Frequent Flyers?

I am a complete novice when it comes to frequent flyer points, so apologies if this is a silly question!

We’re currently building a house, so we have a lot of big expenses coming up... appliances, lighting, furniture, etc. I was thinking it might make sense to get a rewards credit card and put as many of these expenses on it as possible, then use the points towards holidays.

I’m very good at paying bills on time and managing admin, so I’d be paying the balance off immediately rather than carrying a balance or paying interest.

However, after looking into it more, I’ve seen a lot of discussion about the upcoming changes to credit cards/rewards programs in Australia and people saying that frequent flyer cards may become much less worthwhile.

So I’m trying to understand what the actual issue is:

- Is it mainly that the points earn rates/sign-up bonuses are going to get worse?

- Is it becoming harder to actually redeem points for flights, particularly reward seats?

- Or are frequent flyer points still worthwhile, but you just need to be more strategic about which card you choose?

- Are sign-up bonuses still worth chasing, especially if you have a lot of legitimate spending coming up anyway?

- And for someone who is basically starting from zero, is it worth getting into this now, or am I jumping into a dying game?

I’m mainly interested in using points for holidays rather than status.

Would love to hear from people who actually understand this stuff and whether you think it’s still worthwhile in 2026!

Starting solids - rash after almost every food?

My baby is 6 months old and seems to get a rash after every food. It's on her body - back and chest. Not on her mouth or face.

I saw a doctor earlier and mentioned it (at the time there were some foods she didn't react to) and they weren't concerned and said she might just be sensitive and if she gets a rash just stop the food and try again in 6 weeks.

Since then I've tried more food and I think she has a rash almost everyday after food. She's barely even eating it / doesn't really open her mouth which is also interesting but I guess it doesn't take much?

We've tried and had a rash after strawberry, avocado, wheatbix, bone marrow, yoghurt. It seems kind of random? It makes me wonder if it's something else environmental?

I'm using silicone spoons but she has other silicone teethers she uses at other times and hasn't reacted. Food gets everywhere so I wipe her down with a cloth and take her clothes off to monitor for reactions. I washed her playmat yesterday. She was on it before food and did not have any rash.

I have made an appointment to follow up with the doctor but curious if anyone here has had this experience and gotten to the bottom of it?

Ottocast baby camera / android user

Hi! I've been looking at the ottocast baby camera.

I can't tell if it's compatible for us.

We have a xc40 2019 model. I use an android phone.

The website mentions it is but talks about carplay and needing it already (?). I don't think we have that? I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure if I'm confused. Is it an iOS only thing?

Can someone help explain if it'll work for us or not haha.

I also see pictures of screens using it and our screen doesn't look like that at all....
