RFID 134 module - is it bricked?

Has anyone had any luck with this module, I just got it from Aliexpress. I usually get working stuff from there. I have connected it directly via a USB to serial adapter as well as a leonardo using the rfid134 library, but I get absolutely nothing out of it. I am using 9600 baud, its definitely getting power, but I can't see an LED on it signifying its getting power.

Job shadowing or training suggestions

My son would like to get into PC building. We are based on the shore (Ak). Do any companies offer shadowing, or is there any training that he could do. I see the openn polytech have a course, but I figure it's one of those on job training situations.

Empty sump after 3700 miles and Pinging - what is going on?

I have been battling with an engine ping for a while. Usually going up a hill or under load. I have tried 98 octane and octane booster and doesn't seem to help. It got real noisy recently so I checked the oil and the dipstick was clean (no oil at all) I changed the oil 3700 miles ago. It doesn't smoke so I am not sure where the oil is going, no leaks. A mechanic said the chain is good and could possibly be a knock sensor. I took off the PCV value and it seems fine, springs back and forward as it should. It is down on power but I guess that is due to the pinging. It has done 167k miles so no spring chicken, but it has been maintained with regular oil changes. Have you had a knock sensor go? Aside from engine codes (I don't have any) what other symptoms did you have? It's a Honda Accrod

DIY MP3 Player

A little while ago someone wanted to start out with an MP3 player. I figured that would be a great project so I put together a tutorial in a video series.

Parts used:

These ARE NOT affiliate links.

  1. ESP32S (or any ESP32 NOT C#,S# or H# just plain ESP32)
  2. Digital Joystick Module SD Card reader (not 5V safe)
  3. Charger Module
  4. TFT Screen
  5. Voltage Booster
  6. 18650

The project is far from finished but it is a good base to start from if you want to design a case or improve on the UI. Basic operation Pair your speaker -> Track listing appears -> Play!

The code needs a bit of work like detecting there isn't an SD card etc.

The whole playlist putting it all together is here.
