Hi there, beetle people! I do not keep any beetles but am definitely an admirer of beetlekind. (I may some day get some BDFB if I can adopt any, since I don't want to purchase anything wild caught.)

Anyway, I come here today with a question about flake soil. I keep isopods and some folks suggest using flake soil for isopods (since pods can eat decaying wood). But they also warn that flake soil can be prone to molding.

Is this true? Do you find your flake soil can mold? Or does it only mold if it's made incorrectly?

(Isopods need part of their substrate to remain consistently damp, so I'm wondering if flake soil might be a bad match for them.)

Forgive my ignorance, but when does the game update/datamine typically happen? Is it a rigid schedule or does it vary? Trying to decide if I can wait for data mine before pulling for Raifort.

My mom has been going through some midlife crisis thing lately and has become extremely irritable very frequently. She lashes out at me a lot now. She is my closest friend and I don't really have anyone to talk to about it since normally she's the person I'd talk to about this sort of thing. Every time she gets mad at me it makes me very anxious.

She's not even in town at the momet and she's still lashing out at me, via text tonight. She bought me a book on Amazon and it arrived under my name like two days ago. I opened it and was confused and wondered if I ordered it and forgot. I meant to ask her if she had sent it. But forgot to since I have been seriously so busy lately. Tonight she asked if I got it and then got mad at me for not thanking her for the gift. I told her I had forgot and wasn't even sure where it came from, she was still mad though.

I just really need to post about it because I am feeling so anxious right now and have no one to talk to. She left town and took dad with her and becuase of it, I am missing a doctor appointment, as dad was going to give me a ride. (don't have license, and nearest bus stop is like an hr walk in 100 degree weather) She also was supposed to be helping me medicate my cat (it's kind of a 2-person job, shoot a liquid down his throat, need a person to hold him while other prys mouth open and gives meds). But she did not care about either of those things and left town anyway. So it's really been sucking a lot lately.

I am coping best I can, but it's just overwhelming right now.
