Cargo rail alternative or secondary market?

Hi,

I had my Rad Wagon 4 was stolen last month so now I am in the market for a replacement. I'm not going back to Rad so after test riding/researching a bunch of alternatives including Specialized, Aventon, Velotric, and Lectric (to name a few), the Specialized Globe Haul LR is the clear winner.

I am curious if there is a cargo rail alternative for this model? I have a 6 year old and 10 year and feel like my 6 year old might outgrow the rail protection soon potentially making it not worth the additional $320 for it.

Slightly unrelated, are there single deckpad seats (longer) for this one instead of 3 individual Globe Passenger Seats?

Thanks in advance!

Honest assessment and question about getting a Rad Wagon again

I had my RadWagon 4 stolen last month. Thankfully, my insurance company issued a payout that I can now put toward a replacement.

I bought my RadWagon back in 2022 and put about 3K miles on it over the years. I had my fair share of headaches, from the tire recall and constant brake adjustments to local bike shops refusing to work on it and pricey replacement parts.

Still, it was my first e-bike, and I admittedly loved the ease of operation, the price point, how easy it was to pick out accessories on their site, and the nostalgia (I took my daughters everywhere on that bike!). There's definitely comfort in sticking with what you know.

That said, as I look into buying a new one, I'm considering the Aventon Abound SR, Specialized Globe Haul ST, or Velotric GoMad.

I’ve also looked at the RadWagon 5, but everything going on with the company right now gives me major pause:

  • Rad filed for bankruptcy in late 2025 and was acquired in March 2026. Future warranty support and long term parts availability feel like a huge question mark.
  • The late 2025 there were battery warnings (including the RadWagon line) due to dozens of fire incidents and property damage.
  • They rely heavily on custom, non-standard electrical components, making it hard for local bike shops to service without relying on Rad’s supply chain. This is what they've told me.
  • Competing brands now offer torque sensors, hydraulic brakes standard, and actual local dealer networks where a physical shop will happily service the bike.

So while I have a soft spot for my old Rad, it feels like they might no longer be the default choice they were in 2022.

Has anyone here made the jump from a RadWagon to an Abound, Haul ST, or Velotric? Would love to hear your experiences!

E-Bike recommendations

Hello,

Sadly, I had my bike stolen a month ago so now I am in the market for a new one.

I owned a Rad Power Radwagon 4 to haul my daughters to and from school, for light grocery shopping, and to cruise around the city. Rad Power was okay; decent and inexpensive lasting about 3K miles in 4 years, however, they've had their fair share of problems with quality, customer service and recently filed for bankruptcy.

I am using the experience with Rad Power to determine the criteria for my new one:

- Around $2K: I can go slightly more.

- 1-2 people (rider and 1 passenger): My eldest is now 12, so I'm looking to carry myself and my 5 year old.

- Good long term customer support: Rad Power reduced their support due to the risk of closing.

- Uses mainstream or reputable parts: Rad Power uses proprietary parts incl. tires with odd specs, making them difficult to source and repair.

Thank you for reading and recommendations in advance.

Ideas to fix stitching on straps?

Hi all, I’ve had this ED bag for 6 months and the strap stitching is coming undone. I don’t over use it or mistreat it for it to be affected this way. PD says I can’t get it fixed or replaced due to not being a structural or functional issue. Any ideas on how to get it fixed so it doesn’t continue to unravel?

Search keyword within Chat History

Why can't this be a default or easy to find? Apparently, I should be able to see a magnifying glass or with `cmd+k` within the web browser version, but nothing pops up. I am unable to search keywords within my history chat. Anyone have a solution?

Radwagon 4 stolen; any way to still get the serial number?

Sadly, I got my Radwagon 4 stolen today. It broke my heart. I took that thing EVERYWHERE.

I'd like to file a police report but it turns out its classified as a "electric vehicle" that requires me to go into the station and provide the Serial Number. I remember writing it down somewhere but can't find it and it isn't clear in all the photos I took of it.

Does anyone know another way to get it? I've emailed and called Rad Power today to see if maybe its in their records so we'll see.

**Update: I contacted Rad Power Bikes via their chat feature and they promptly emailed me the serial number. Thanks everyone for the recommendations.

Looking for Rad Power Battery Charger Replacement/Alternative

Hi all,

After 4 years, my Rad Power Bike charger is showing some wear and tear (below). I am looking for a reliable (and safe) charger. The one on the Rad Power Bike site is out of stock and poorly rated. I am a bit wary of buying just any charger given the reports of fires. Thank you!

Looking for "older version" deckpad for Radwagon 4

Hi all,

Alas, my 6 year old has graduated from the Yepp seat to the deckpad. It might be a stretch but wondering if anyone knows where to buy/find an older version Radwagon 4 deckpad (image below)? Can't seem to find any online. The new version look significantly different and more expensive so hoping to find an older version to match my current one (2022).
