Just trying to find some info on queuing for the Vatican museum. Going late October, but hearing stories of queues of nearly 3 hours to get in!

Looking for a start up kit

So me and my son did a bit of roach fishing in Cornwall with an instructor and enjoyed it. We are absolute beginners, but fancy having a go back home. When i say beginners I really do mean beginners! Not looking to go out and catch 20lb carp straight away, but after something easy to use, preferably fixed reel, something nice and basic to catch some small fish. Hopefully something that doesn’t tangle up loads too! Don’t want to spend a massive amount, but well aware of false economy too!

Thinking of a day trip to herculaneum

Thinking of a day trip from Rome to herculaneum. A bit concerned as travelling with my 13 year old, as I’ve heard people say it’s a rough area and fairly dangerous to travel to. Not sure if I want to expose him to that. Or is it just scaremongering and the travel is no different to getting around places in the uk etc?

Chappers appreciation

Best presenter on tv. Doesn’t try to be too clever or talk over pundits, has a sense of humour and seems to really enjoy presenting. Used to like him years ago on the Scott mills show too

Rome in October

Going to Rome for a few nights with our 13 year old in October. I’ve opted to stay near Villa Borghese, then plan was to save a few pounds by not having a city centre hotel, but wondering now will I just end up paying the cost in taxis and transport in anyway? Has anyone stayed near there before and know the best way to get into the city? Also looking for some interactive and immersive attractions for our 13 year old

Right wing influencers

Since taking up an interest in right wing politics over years (I repeat interest not believing or actioning it), my YouTube algorithms are full of right wing YouTubers. They seem to do an excellent job of making the left look erratic, irrational and a bit mad. It’s obviously edited and they pick the type of incidents and people to film, nether the less they do it well.

They show the left getting angry and not entering debate, throwing insults rather than engaging in debate and then having no rational answer.

So why don’t the left have answer? Where are the left wing YouTubers or influencers exposing the right? Where are they engaging in debate with them having come backs?

An example is operation raise the colours. The right did a number on the left here, making them to be British hating lunatics ripping down the Union Jack. I never understood why the left didn’t counter this brilliantly, and turn up to demos with their own union jacks. Standing side by side with people of various backgrounds under the flag saying look here, we are all British.fr

Madeira in October half term

Looking at a 4 or 5 night stay in Madeira end of October wth my wife and 13 year old. We’re not sun seekers and don’t deal all that well with large crowds. Thinking October may be an ideal time where it’s warm but not too hot for us to some walking and sight seeing. Although we don’t want a crowded holiday, hopefully things will still be open and running like the cable cars etc. what do people who’ve been think?

Punk v Rollins

With Rollins looking set to be in a long term feud with breakker, when and how do WWE finish the punk and Rollins storyline which has just fizzled out?

Under 14s football lack of game time

So my boy has been training for a year with his local club, as he didn’t take football up until 11 and also plays in a side a year older than him because he joined to play with his mates. Good call by the coach and fully on board with it. A year on now and he’s ready to start getting some minutes but game time will be limited. Again fully on board. Would it be reasonable for me to ask the coach if we just make ourselves available for games against the “lesser” teams where he has more chance of minutes, to save wasting our Saturdays? Or would you be annoyed as the coach, thinking all players should be fully committed every weekend?
