How do you feel about all the patches a Volunteer has available to wear?
Do many people wear the GSUSA Volunteer patch? Is it helpful? Is there a risk of people being confused about how an adult is a Girl Scout if you don’t have this on? Or maybe people will think you are a paid worker if you don’t have it?
I think it’s a very sharp-looking patch, but it seems a little of redundant with the council ID set, which also says “Girl Scouts USA ♣️”. I wish there was a matching Council ID patch to use with the Volunteer patch in-lieu of wearing the Council ID set. I’ve thought about using the Volunteer Patch in-place of the Council ID patch, but that would look weird and like I don’t know what I’m doing
And there’s already a bunch of other volunteer patches that also go on the right like the Troop Volunteer patch, Outdoor Volunteer patch, Cookie Volunteer patch, Troop Co-Leader patch, STEM Volunteer patch, etc. And then there’s the Volunteer Pins that goes on the right side.
And there’s so many things that go on the right side of the vest with the Flag, Council ID set, name tag, GSUSA, Volunteer patch, Troop Crest, and Troop Numerals. In the olden days, the Flag, Council ID set, Troop Numerals, Troop Crest, and Brownie Wings were spread across the right and left shoulders, but now that all is combined on the right side with no shoulders on the vests.
What all do you adults put on your uniforms?
