What's the real story with the online proctors? Share your stories please!

I can understand, like with most things in the world right now, people usually only talk about bad experiences in reviews and what not. Most of the things I see on here are horror stories about how rude or strict the proctors are. What's your experience?

I'm getting ready to start my testing and I just want to know what the overall experience is, and what to expect. I have some things in the only private room available that I simply cannot move. Like I have a drum set behind me. And where my computer desk is set up, where the only source for an ethernet cable is, you cannot see the door. I can't imagine they can be upset about the layout of the room, but I remember reading on here or somewhere that a proctor got pissed about a shelf of books, that the test taker couldn't even access while on camera and they wanted them to remove the books.

Is this ridiculous or have you had experiences like this? If I happen to run into a rude proctor or I think they're making outrageous asks, am I able to ask to speak with someone to fix the issue? I have to get these tests done for my new job and I just want to hammer them all out ASAP and be done with it but I'm not sure about how I feel about these horror stories of rude proctors taking 3 hours before a test even begins.

Question about equipment/check in

I can only really find people talking about the ged so I’m not sure what the hiset is like.

I’m curious about the check in/getting started situation. My issue is the way my system is set up. The way I’ve heard online is you submit pictures of the area you’re using or whatever for approval. Which I mean anything I have in the room is too far away/behind where the computer is anyway for it to be involved. There’s a wall directly behind my monitor. However my camera is attached to my screen and the cable is like, stretched as far as it goes. I heard they want like a 360 scan again when you log on or they want you to move the screen around? I’m unsure how to do that without like ripping the cord out or messing the camera up.

All that being said, can someone let me know what the whole log in and get ready process is so I can try to adjust my janky ass setup and not have issues for tests when I log in? Like I said I can only find what the ged is like so I’m curious as to what I need to do. I only have an external mic and this cam that’s attached to the monitor that doesn’t come off so moving the screen is gonna be interesting and I don’t want them to like get annoyed and cancel the test or something. Thanks

Looking for local record store and tattoo artist recommendations

I'm going to be in town for a few days in August.

For records - I lean more heavy. So any shops that might have a better selection of anything heavier. Hardcore, black metal, groove, whatever. Looking for something with a better selection in that general area, not a big overall store that has a bit of this and that.

For tattoos - The piece I want isn't anything crazy, just an already existing piece of art with some added lettering to commemorate the trip. Just wondering who the solid dudes around town are. Straight lines, can pack in black well, fun shop, etc. Who are your buddies, what's their Instagram? Thanks!

Terminal B venue info

Looking into a show in August. The “vip” seems to be a place way off to the side with not a great view and the rest is a massive open field. Unless I get up front, which I imagine the stage is massive and that’s not a good spot either, am I essentially paying to watch a screen for 2 hours? Or is there some sort of upgrades the venue does for seating somewhere else for a good view of the stage? An example of that would be like the Fillmore in Denver. You can buy general admission or vip tickets, but if you go in the back the venue themselves has seats saved up top and to the left of the stage that a lot of people don’t know about, but it’s expensive.

I’m 40, I don’t want to stand for 7 hours in the heat and I don’t want to watch the show through screens so I’m just seeing if there’s anything missing from the pics I’ve seen. Thanks

Looking for fun places to eat with my kid

I'm bringing my kid down for a weekend summer trip. Doing the whole Meow Wolf, Zoo, etc. etc. thing. I'd like to take her to more unconventional places. They don't have to be "fun" in theme or anything, I just mean outside the box/not McDonalds.

For example, but not limited to, is there like a...jumbo cinnamon roll place, or a place with sweets like that, maybe like a baked potato spot, wild mac and cheese type stuff? Just things that you see in passing on like Tiktok or whatever else.

And again not just those specifically, just not your standard like Pete's Kitchen or Great Scotts and what not. Just cool spots that are specific in their field. Thanks!
