Accidentally booked Super Economy Frecciarossa tickets – any options?

Hi everyone,
I accidentally booked Super Economy Frecciarossa tickets a few weeks ago because they were much cheaper, and now I’m regretting it.
My itinerary is:
Venice → Florence at around 6:30 AM
Florence → Rome at around 6:00 PM
The original plan was to spend the day exploring Florence during the layover. However, after several days of sightseeing, I’m now very tired and would rather take the 5:00 PM Florence → Rome train instead of waiting for my booked train.
The reason is that if I arrive in Rome before 8:00 PM, my Airbnb host will help me with my luggage. If I arrive later, they charge a €100 late check-in fee, so getting there an hour earlier would make a big difference.
I booked through a third-party ticket seller a few weeks ago, and the only option I can see is to transfer the ticket to someone else. There doesn’t seem to be any way to change it.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there any flexibility with a Super Economy ticket if I ask at the Trenitalia ticket office, or is buying a completely new ticket my only realistic option?
Has anyone successfully boarded an earlier Frecciarossa with a Super Economy ticket after speaking to station staff, or were you required to buy a new ticket?
Thanks in advance!

Best way to go to Milan from zermatt trains not working due to construction.

We are a family of four visiting Switzerland in late June. Our final stop will be Zermatt, where we’ll spend two days.

I’m looking for transportation from Zermatt to Milan, but because of the construction work in the Simplon Tunnel during this period, it seems that the usual train connections are disrupted. I found a train from Brig to Iselle, but it now says that schedules may change due to construction and that travelers should check the latest timetable before departure.

I haven’t been able to find a reliable alternative other than going back via Zurich and taking a train from there. The other options I can think of are taking an Uber/taxi, which would be quite expensive, or renting a car in Täsch, driving to Milan, and dropping it off there.

Has anyone made this trip recently or planned it for late June? What would you suggest? We’d like to get from Zermatt to Milan (or directly to Lake Como) in under five hours if possible.

Our plan is to continue on to Lake Como afterward. We might spend a few hours in Milan before taking a train to Lake Como in the evening, or we may go directly to Lake Como depending on how tired we are.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit- the problem isn’t the connection to Milan
It’s showing from brig to iselle trains are affected it’s a 15 minute train ride otherwise I have a 15 minute wait for connection to Milan a bus it is showing me construction work, but still letting me book it individually but not the whole connection to zermatt to

7-Day Switzerland Family Trip (Late June) – Jungfrau Base Advice, Zermatt Planning

Hi everyone,
We’re planning a 7-day Switzerland trip in the last week of June and I’d love some advice on itinerary balance, best base in the Jungfrau region, and how to avoid overdoing things.
We’re a family of 4 with two teenagers, so we can walk/hike reasonably well, but we still don’t want every day to feel rushed.
Current Plan

Day 1 – Zurich → Lucerne
Land in Zurich around 7 AM
Breakfast + store luggage at Zurich HB
Light sightseeing only because of jet lag
Planning to visit Lindt Home of Chocolate and walk around the Old Town/lake area
We considered Rhine Falls but it feels too much for arrival day
Evening train to Lucerne
Dinner + overnight in Lucerne

Day 2 – Lucerne
Planning to see:
Chapel Bridge
Lion Monument
Old Town
Lake Lucerne area
I feel Lucerne town itself can probably be covered in half a day pretty comfortably, so I’m thinking of adding ONE mountain excursion:
Mount Pilatus
or
Mount Titlis
Which would you recommend considering we’ll already spend several days in the Jungfrau region afterward?

Days 3–5 – Jungfrau Region
This is the part I’m struggling with most.
From my research so far, these are the places/attractions we’ve gathered that seem worth visiting in the Jungfrau region:
Jungfraujoch
Lauterbrunnen
Wengen
Grindelwald
Mürren
Kleine Scheidegg
Grindelwald First
Scenic train rides and easy hikes around the area
I know it’s impossible to do everything properly in 3 days, so I’m trying to understand:
which places are actually worth prioritizing,
which ones feel repetitive,
and which base would make the most sense logistically and financially.
We’d also like a balance between sightseeing and relaxed evenings instead of constantly rushing between trains.
Accommodation Issue
Lauterbrunnen accommodation is either sold out already or extremely expensive.
Right now we’re considering:
Wengen
Grindelwald
Interlaken
Maybe even Spiez for lower costs
Thoughts So Far
Wengen seems beautiful, peaceful, and has much nicer Airbnb options
Grindelwald seems convenient but busier/more expensive
Interlaken feels practical but maybe too touristy
Spiez looks gorgeous and cheaper, but I’m worried daily travel time into the mountains could become tiring
Questions
Best base for 3 nights?
Is Wengen practical with luggage since it’s car-free?
Is Jungfraujoch worth doing even with the high cost? (We are currently planning to do it if weather is good.)
Best easy/moderate hikes with the best scenery?
Any places in the Jungfrau region that feel less overcrowded?
Any recommendations to reduce transportation/food costs for a family of 4?
Swiss Travel Pass vs Half Fare Card for this itinerary?

Days 6–7 – Zermatt
After Jungfrau region we’ll head to Zermatt before leaving for Milan.
I know the main highlights are:
Matterhorn views
Gornergrat cogwheel railway
But I’m not fully sure how to structure Zermatt properly without rushing.
Would you recommend:
2 nights in Zermatt?
Doing Gornergrat on arrival day or departure day?
Any easy scenic hikes/viewpoints that are must-do?
After Zermatt we’ll continue to Milan.
On day 8.

we got our Visa through Switzerland so we have spend more days there,
our proposed split is 8 days in Switzerland and 7 days in Italy.
We have booked Flight from new Delhi to Zurich 7AM morning flight lands and return flight 10 Pm Rome 15 day from day 1 to day 15 in Rome.
Day 1 - We have planned first day light in Zurich probably visit old town and Lindt factory or Rhine falls if energy allows and sleep in Zurich.
Day 2- we will be leaving in the morning from Zurich to Lucerne and store our luggage in the lockers at train station and visit the city and return to the station for the 5pm train to lauterbrunnen, where we will be staying for 3 nights. We will check into our Airbnb there have dinner and sleep.
Day 3- we will be visiting the classic morning jungfraujock and grindewald in the afternoon
Cliff walk and all and klien schedeg probably
And come back to our Airbnb in lauterbrunnen
Day 4- we are planning on visiting o lauterbrunnen region like a relaxed scenic day where we are staying at exploring murren waterfalls the whole area and a village if possible cable cars the cogwheel
Day 5 Interlaken area and still planning this area - leave for zermat in evening or next morning depends what I activity I plan
This region is flexible except the day I’m going to visit jungfraujoch will finalize one day
Day - 6 I will be arriving in zermatt or would have probably arrived there last night evening
Matterhorn glacier paradise planned cable car station glacier palace ice tunnels observation decks Swiss ash’s zermat villageBahnhofstrasse
Riverside walks
Wooden alpine houses
Luxury cafés/chocolates
Bahnhofstrasse
Riverside walks
Wooden alpine houses
Luxury cafés/chocolates
Matterhorn photo spots
Possible additions:
Matterhorn Museum
Church bridge viewpoint

Possible additions:
Matterhorn Museum
Church bridge viewpoint
Day - 7 zermat
Zermat to Gornergrat+ five lakes
Day 8 - this is where I’m confused. I am planning on this day either traveling directly to Milan from zermat 4-5 hours.
Or scenic trains like glacier express to Saint Moritz on that day arrive at like 5 PM see Saint Moritz in the evening and next day till 4 PM. See Saint Moritz and then leave to Tirano to Milan by bernina since I’m planning to buy the Swiss travel pass so this will be cover either way just reservation fee
Trade offs are less day in Italy and too long train glacier express but if I do glacier express and I need to do berina because it’s the best way to get to Italy back from st Moritz .
Day 10 in Milan see the whole city soak the bib
Day 11 lake como day trip and evening in Milan
Day 12 11AM train to Venice 1 night there
Day 13 explore Venice and evening train to Rome
Day 14 and 15 see Roma
If I do not do Saint Moritz I would have one day more in Venice

Itinerary Feedback] 9-day Switzerland family trip (late June–early July) — would appreciate honest advice before booking

Hi everyone,
We’re a family of 4 planning our first Switzerland trip for late June–early July as part of a larger Europe vacation.
Flights are already booked:
Arrive Zurich around 7 AM
Continue onward to Italy by train
This may realistically be our only Switzerland trip for many years, so we’re trying to balance:
iconic experiences
scenic train journeys
relaxed pacing
beautiful scenery
avoiding excessive rushing
Current rough plan:
Zurich — 1 night
Lauterbrunnen region — 3 nights
Zermatt — 3 nights
Scenic train route toward Italy (possibly Glacier Express + Bernina route) — 1–2 nights
Places/activities we’re considering:
Grindelwald
Mürren/Wengen
Kleine Scheidegg
Five Lakes Walk
Gornergrat
Glacier Paradise
Jungfraujoch (still undecided)
We prefer:
scenery over museums
scenic walks/light hikes
cafés/views
fewer hotel changes
train travel over cars
A few things we’d really appreciate honest feedback on:
Are Glacier Express + Bernina Express genuinely worth it, or more “tourist iconic” than truly memorable?
If you had to cut ONE thing, what would it be?
Jungfraujoch
Glacier Express
Bernina route
St. Moritz
something else
Is Jungfraujoch actually worth experiencing once, even at the price?
Are 3 nights each in Lauterbrunnen and Zermatt a good pace?
Swiss Travel Pass vs Half Fare Card for this route?
Any scenic/light hikes you’d strongly recommend for families with teenagers?
Any money-saving tips or underrated places we should know about?
We’ll mainly travel by train and only carry 2 large suitcases total.
Would really appreciate honest advice before we start booking hotels and scenic train reservations.

Hi everyone,
We’re a family of 4 planning our first Switzerland + Italy trip for late June–early July (15 days / 14 nights). Flights are already booked:
Arrive Zurich around 7 AM
Depart Rome around 10 PM
This may realistically be our only Switzerland trip for many years, so we’re trying to balance iconic experiences with slower pacing and not overloading the itinerary.
Current split:
9 days Switzerland
6 days Italy
We prefer:
scenic experiences
train travel
fewer hotel changes
beautiful walks/views/cafés
atmosphere over checklist tourism
Current rough itinerary:
Zurich — 1 night
Rhine Falls
Lindt Museum
Lauterbrunnen region — 3 nights
Lucerne transit day
Grindelwald
Mürren/Wengen
Kleine Scheidegg
considering Jungfraujoch
Zermatt — 3 nights
Glacier Paradise
Five Lakes Walk
Matterhorn area
Glacier Express → St. Moritz
Bernina Express → Milan
Milan — 3 nights
Milan city
Lake Como day trip (likely Varenna + Bellagio)
Venice — 1 night
Rome — 2 nights + almost full departure day
Questions:
Does the Italy portion feel too rushed compared to Switzerland?
Are Glacier Express + Bernina Express genuinely worth it or more “tourist iconic” than actually memorable?
If you had to cut ONE thing in Switzerland, what would it be?
Is Jungfraujoch worth the cost?
Swiss Travel Pass vs Half Fare Card for this route?
Any major logistical mistakes for family train travel?
Any underrated places/experiences along this route?
Any good money-saving tips for Switzerland in particular?
We’ll mainly travel by train and only carry 2 large suitcases total.
Would really appreciate honest feedback before we start booking hotels and train reservations.

First Europe Family Trip planning - 13-14 days Switzerland/_____ / Italy

We are planning our first Europe trip as a family from India we are traveling with our 17 year old son and 16 year old daughter and would love some advice from experienced travelers.
Our trip will likely be around 13-14 days in late June to early July . We already received our Schengen visa from Switzerland, so Switzerland will definitely be one of the main countries on the trip spending the maximum days.
We definitely want to visit Italy as well, but we are still confused about which other country would fit best for a relaxed first-time Europe trip. Right now we are considering combinations including:
Switzerland
Italy
OR France
OR Germany
OR Spain
OR AUSTRIA
We only want to do around 3 countries maximum because we do not want the trip to become too rushed or exhausting, especially with family. We prefer a less chaotic. and more comfortable trip instead of constantly changing hotels and covering too many places so we want to make base in cities probably thinking two cities in Switzerland and Italy and 1 city in 3rd country .
Our travel style is more about:
Scenic views, mountains, lakes, and beautiful cities
Good food, cafés, shopping, and relaxed exploring
Comfortable travel and fewer hotel changes
A balanced itinerary instead of rushing through Europe
Some questions:
Which 3-country combination would you recommend for first-timers?
Is Switzerland + Italy + France the best route?
Would Germany or Spain fit better instead of France?
How many days would you suggest per country?
Which cities would you personally recommend for a relaxed family itinerary in June?
Would really appreciate suggestions, sample itineraries, or advice from people who have done a similar trip

17 overweight 5.7 Feet 80Kg severe case weight loss after that

I’m 17 and have had gynecomastia/puffy nipples since I was around 13. I attached photos because I honestly don’t know how severe it looks objectively anymore after thinking about it for years.

I lost weight once when I was younger and most of the chest fat went away, but the puffy nipple/gland area stayed and looked kind of weird even when I got leaner. Later I gained weight again because of unhealthy eating. I also had delayed puberty related to insulin resistance/hormone issues, so I think that may have contributed.

The thing that bothers me most is the puffy nipple appearance. When there’s pressure on the chest, like during swimming, cold water, tight clothing, or if I press on it slightly, it actually looks almost normal. But otherwise it puffs back out again and makes me really insecure.

This year I’m going to boarding school and will be sharing a room with 2–3 other boys, and honestly this has destroyed my confidence. I avoid swimming, being shirtless, changing clothes around people, etc. In my country guys can be pretty judgmental about body stuff, which makes the anxiety worse.

For people who’ve gone through this:
- Does this look like actual gyno or mostly fat?
- Did getting lean help your puffy nipples much?
- How did you deal with dorms/hostels/shared rooms?
- Did people notice as much as you feared?
- If you got surgery later, was it worth it?

I’d really appreciate honest advice because I’ve been dealing with this silently for years.

My family of 4 applied for a Canadian tourist visa around 3 years ago, but our application was refused. At that time, we had sufficient funds and a well-established business in India. One possible issue may have been that we did not maintain consistent balances in our personal bank accounts.
Another thing is that our travel itinerary was extremely detailed with many cities and internal travel plans, which may have looked unusual or overly complicated to the visa officer. We also did not have any relatives or family members in Canada.
We later requested GCMS/visa officer notes, but they did not clearly explain much about the refusal reasons.
Now, in 2026, we are considering reapplying around November or December.
Since our previous application, our travel history has become much stronger. As a family, we have now visited:
UAE
Singapore
Malaysia
Thailand
China
USA
We are also travelling to Europe this summer, including Switzerland, Italy, and France.
Back in 2023, we had only travelled to Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Even then, we had sufficient funds, so the refusal was confusing to us. After that refusal, we did not bother reapplying because we were no longer interested in visiting Canada at the time.
Financially, our situation is also much stronger now. I own three businesses in India, and my wife is employed as well. Our combined ITR is around ₹50 lakhs annually. Since some of our income comes through partnership businesses, a portion of the funds remain within the business accounts and are reflected in the company filings rather than only in personal savings accounts.
Now we are planning another US trip and would like to visit Canada alongside it, mainly Vancouver and possibly crossing the Niagara Falls border for a few days.
We also heard that we may qualify under the CAN+ program because of our US travel history/visa. From what I understand, financial documents are more limited under CAN+, although we still plan to provide strong supporting documents voluntarily.
What do you think about our situation now?
Is this a good time to reapply?
Does our stronger travel history improve our chances significantly?
Has anyone been approved after a previous refusal in a similar case?
Would applying under CAN+ help?
What are realistically our chances of approval now?
Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated.

I submitted my family Schengen visa application for Switzerland on 5 May. Standard time is 15 working days, but how long did it take in your experience?

reddit.com
u/jellocarameltea — 2 months ago

Hi everyone,

The new Switzerland Schengen visa checklist (October 2024) does not mention business bank statements, cover letters, or property documents. It strictly states only listed documents are accepted.

I understand VFS has been rejecting clearly unnecessary extras like duplicate passport stamp copies and redundant bookings. That makes sense.

But what about documents that are genuinely needed for certain profiles — specifically:

•	Business bank statement — essential for self-employed applicants to explain the source of funds transferred from a business account to a personal account

•	Cover letter — needed to provide context for the application

•	Property documents — supporting ties to home country

Have these actually been physically rejected at the VFS counter?

Or does VFS only reject clearly unnecessary documents and still accept supporting documents that are relevant to the applicant’s profile?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently submitted at VFS Global India — especially self-employed applicants. What happened at the counter with these documents?

Thank you.
