Officially starting Malazan tonight

So excited to finally be starting my Malazan journey and actually participate in this subreddit instead of silently lurking on non spoiler posts LOL

Idk if I need luck bc I hear it’s both confusing but not confusing at the same time so I guess I’ll be finding out for myself as I go haha

TBB SFF May book spoilers

Just wanted to share since I got the SFF sub book in the other week and I lovedddd it. The book was so good and I definitely appreciate the cover more once I understood it. This is my first blind sub box and it stresses me out to not know what it’ll look like lol idk if I’ll keep the sub bc I do have a hard time not knowing the design and I’m one of picky but I’m excited about this one!

TBB The Dragon’s Blade trilogy review for sale weekend

TBB The Dragon’s Blade Trilogy review for sale weekend

Hi everyone! Since TBB is releasing their anniversary editions of The Dragon’s Blade trilogy this weekend, I thought I could leave my review in case anyone wanted more info on the books since this trilogy doesn’t seem to be as popular as Miller’s Ascendant series.

“Memory is the heaviest of all things. Even the strongest shoulders will be hunched by it in time. Nothing weighs upon us more, nor for longer, than memory.”

The Reborn King is the first book in The Dragon’s Blade trilogy and it is a solid debut with good characters, an interesting plot, and really good world building. I enjoyed most of the character work and relationships in this book, although I wasn’t a huge fan of the romance in here. It just felt a bit lackluster to me and I didn’t really feel like I was invested into the relationship. But there was a friendship in here that I was really invested in and I’m hoping to see more in the next book.

The world building is the star of the show and the strongest part of this book, I loved the world created and I’m definitely excited to learn more as I get into the second and third books.

The pace was on the slightly faster side and I think it worked well for this book as it’s mostly setting up the rest of the series. But the world building and plot were solid and I’m really interested in finding out where things are going to go from here. The writing style is on the simpler side and felt a bit choppy and abrupt in the beginning, but it did seem to get better in the second half. As this is a debut novel, I’m looking forward to seeing this aspect of his writing to improve as we move through the series and already seeing an improvement in book 1 makes me excited to continue! I also really like where the plot is heading, so overall a really solid debut novel.

I saw the sale details already posted on this page so I won’t get repetitive with those, but I do have a code - GYMJEN - that you can use at checkout. It doesn’t give a discount, it just lets TBB know I sent you. No pressure to use it though! Thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far lmaooo

Hi everyone!

I’m Jen, a GSD dog mom and a powerlifter (relevant to my codes lol) and I just recently became a rep for The Broken Binding! I’m pretty hype bc their current fantasy sub is The Faithful and the Fallen by John Gwynne and he’s one of my favorites!

I’m doing a giveaway for anyone who uses my code during my rep term so I thought I’d share my codes with you all if you wanted to use them, no pressure tho I know you don’t know me lol I don’t make commission or anything, using it just supports me with broken binding and it’ll enter you into my giveaway to win a book off your wishlist or TBB gift card.

GYMJEN - special edition site, no discount but supports me with TBB

GYMJEN15 - standard UK site for their regular editions and gives you 15% off

If you’ve purchased anything recently you want to pledge to me so you can get extra giveaway entries, message me and I can send you the form! Anyway, you can DM me for giveaway details on here but I’m running it through my IG jenreadsfantasy so feel free to find me there - I post book reviews and recs for epic fantasy and scifi mainly! (Giveaway isn’t affiliated with TBB, just a way for me to give back and thank people for the support!)
