St. Louis style ribs. I don’t quite do the 3-2-1 method that everyone else does. I smoke at 225 until I get a color and bark that I like which is somewhere in the range of 3-4 hours. I do a foil wrap with (all measurements are estimates as I just eyeball everything) about half cup brown sugar, 4-5TBS butter, and 3 TBS of cherry habanero rib candy. Wrap with meat side down and place back in for probably about another 2ish hours or until I get the right “feel” and meat is pulled back from bones about half inch. I don’t glaze with bbq sauce as I feel that it gives a cheap taste to the ribs and I prefer my rub and wrap to the heavy lifting on the flavoring.
I am a long time user on a stick burner smoker but got my Traeger 2 years ago and have been pretty happy. Quite frankly you can’t quite replicate the quality that you get on a stick burner but the Traeger is perfect for ribs and poultry as far as the “end” product compared to stick burner. I mainly use the stick for brisket and other beef cuts because the Traeger can’t impart the bold smoke flavor that red meat needs. Other than that the Traeger has been a happy addition to the patio.
Who’s equipped the Banks Derringer on their 24-26 LP5?
Curious to see who’s had first hand experience with the derringer on the new LP5s for 24-26. Definitely curious about any increase fuel efficiency while towing.
2026 Forest River Primetime Adventure 25MKB experience or advice
PFA: My wife and I have been long time campers but looking at pulling the trigger on our first TT. We found a new 2026 Primetime Avenger MKB and the floor plan and features seem to suit us perfectly. However, since we are new to the RV gang we wanted to know if any one has any first hand experiences with the avengers or things to look out for. Any advice, tips, suggestions would be appreciated.
