Why are the leaves on my Philodendron Melanochrysum turning yellow?
It's placed on a east facing window, having sun from sunrise to around 15:00 . Watering 'as usual', which is not quite often actually, i guess once in 2 weeks (this hasn't changed), humidity is around 50-65% usually in my house.
Things that have changed:
- I've put up a sun screen due to the heatwave(s), but one window is still uncovered (for kitty cat :)) so it still receives a lot of sun.
- It's recently repotted, but it's been in Lechuza Pon since i got it (couple of months ago).
- I have my doors and windows open, so there's always a draft (this is since a month, due to the summer).
- Temperature: fluctuates similar as outdoor temps (going to as high as 32degrees Celsius, and cooling off again at night to around 20degreesC)
When I google, it mentions too much sun or too little sun, too much water, or too little water. What is the best approach to test what's going on? I can't take away the draft (theres just no place in my house during summer which is not windy (I live at the coast), windows closed means i'm baking myself... But i can try more sun, less sun etc...? Or is this to be expected from this plant? It's the first time I have one.
Turning 40 in 3 weeks. Here's my goals for this year :)
I (39F) recently discovered trailrunning, and my brother persuaded me to sign up for a 16km trail run event end of January '27. Also, since I'm starting to like my Hyrox lessons finally, my goal is to do a full solo Hyrox race before i turn 41. Throw in the mix at least three 5day backpacking hikes with tent and doggy, and I feel my 40th will be active and challenging 💪 I was thinking of doing one of these fastpacking from hotel - hotel, depending on how the running is progressing.
Long term I want to run a long long trail run (50+km). Let's see how long it will take for me to get near that goal.
What are your goals?
Soles separating? Topo athletic
want to check: bought these Topo Athletic Ultraventure shoes in my beginner journey trail running (and brought them along with my week backpacking in the German woods last week (in a heat wave, cannot recommend). All in all only around 125km max? used. Is this a sign of the soles separating? or will this just stay as is and not continue? ie. does anyone have the same with their shoes? should I go back to the store or is it a non issue? they’re so comfy ofherwise :) thanks for any input!
Started trail running 2 weeks ago, couldn't be more happy about 'discovering' this! 39F + doggy (11M)
So this is my dog, on our evening run in our 'back yard', in his happy place. So obviously this is me in my happy place as well :)
After moving to another village, I couldn't get into the rhythm of working out anymore. I used to go to Crossfit 3-4 times a week, but there isn't any around here, signed up for Hyrox, but the atmosphere is too competitive, and quite intimidating so it just didn't really work out.
So after 1,5 years of not doing 'anything' I ended up asking my brother if he was up for a run 31st of January 2027, a trail run, at my home town (he's a runner, doing (half) marathons and recently picked up trail running). So here we are. We've committed to a 16km run in 7 months time. Finally this gave me the motivation to go out.
What it showed me already:
- happy relaxed and super chill walk-runs: i do an evening walk and just decide to go run most of it. I can keep up a long time being around 135-150bpm (max HR is 186). I stop because of small sensitiveness in knees, or just because my dog is taking a look time sniffing around, or i see a nice bird.
- Suprised and REALLY HAPPY that this is just equally, even more, fun than just hiking. I'm huge fan of hiking. And I live in the middle of nature, at the beach. This is just adding so much more hapiness to my daily walks. I really really can't believe i'd never ever thought to do this earlier on...
- Surprised my (thru)hiking background adds a lot already: ankle stability, not afraid to just place my feet anywhere, trust in the movement, and i guess also a bit on endurance.
- I even attended Hyrox workouts twice weekly. Now I have some 'external' motivator, and told myself it's ok to pace these workouts, I'm able to motivate myself and find it lots more enjoyable
I'm going to continue on my happy relaxed walk-runs until I notice knees and all the other parts of my body really get used to the longer distances, and then probs will start with a bit of a more structured training, but really, maybe I just continue on like this.
Thanks for all the inspiration on this sub! Hope to be back end of Jan. with a report of my first ever trail race :D
Leave sleeping bag at home and use liner?? Temps 33C (91F) daytime to 16C (61F) at night. Inner tent is winter version...
Hey, I thought I could find probably some people here who sometimes leave their sleeping bag at home, and use a liner in stead?
Situation:
Going for a 5 day hike next week. Forecast changed last weekend to hot weather: expected day temperatures are ranging from 28-33 degrees Celcius and at night a minimum of 16degrees (61F).
Usually I take my down sleepingbag, even in summer, but I just received my Durston X-Dome 1+ tent, and since the regular inner tent was sold out, I opted to go for the solid inner tent, thinking to buy the regular inner later on. Sort of forgot about that last part, so now I have a winter version of a tent, hot weather, and thinking of leaving my sleeping bag at home and take my Cocoon silk/cotton liner in stead. I do bring a merinowool long sleeve, and long pants, and wools socks. I sleep on a Therm-a-rest insulated mat, so not worried about cold from the floor either.
Would this be an option? I understand everyone's sleeping preferences are different, just looking for some opinions...
Thanks!
I'm not sure about the downgrade in size?
I've got a Gossamer Gear mariposa 60 size M (the mint/grey one). Which is comfy, but i had to make some adjustments and still the hipbelt is not a good snug fit.
So I wanted to get their new model, and since I'm at the border of size (S or M) back length wise, I thought to try a size smaller (which then would have the correct size hip belt already).
But, i packed it, and it looks like it might be too small of a backpanel? Anyone out here with the same pack and can tell me if this would be an issue? am i better getting a size up? I checked this video of them and they mention the shoulder straps should be even with the shoulder...
any advise/experience much appreciated!
- recreatief gebruik niet toegestaan is;
De bewoners van het appartement stellen dat hun bij aankoop feitelijk het beeld is gegeven dat zij directe toegang tot het natuurgebied hadden.
Mijn vraag:
