How do you all climb so fast?
I’ve been mountain biking for three seasons now and I feel like I’ve improved a ton, especially with climbing. This was my first summer with a xc full suspension and while it’s helped, I haven’t noticed a huge difference in climbing performance.
Still, I’ve been working hard on getting faster on the uphills, shaving off plenty of time in my PRs on some hills. Yet, I check Strava segments or I bike with my more experienced friends and I’m getting absolutely crushed on inclines. I’m in great cardio shape, I’m pedalling hard, leaning low and my seat’s high but how are these guys biking up a hill at double the speed I’m going at? Without an e-bike?
Is it just practice and biking more? I’ve been fat biking all winter and I’m on the trails at least 2-3x a week in the summer months. Love the sport, and I’d like to get into some amateur racing later on, but I feel like I got a long way to go. Any tips or advice?
Edit: Damn, did not expect this many people to chime in on how I should be climbing better, but thanks for the quality advice y'all!
