Back to the silent base line after a few years

A few years ago (2020), I built a PC with a Core i9-9900 processor in a Silent Base 801 case, with three additional 14cm Pure Wings 2 fans and a Dark Rock 4 CPU cooler. I was thrilled with the setup until I sold it. Since then, I've gone through countless cases, coolers, and fans from various brands, always good quality ones like Fractal, Noctua, or Thermalright. For the past few months, I've had to deal with a setup that runs quite hot: a Fractal Pop Silent case, a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120EVO cooler, and three Thermalright TL-K12 fans. No matter how much I adjusted the fan curve and PBO values of my 9800X3D, I couldn't get it below 60°C at idle, and the fan noise was quite annoying. So, when I'd had enough, I went back to BeQuiet!, bought a Silent Base 802, eight 14cm Pure Wings 3 PWM fans, a Dark Rock Elite CPU cooler, and, since I found a good deal, I also upgraded my power supply to a 1200W Dark Power 14 (In 0db mode). i'm in love and comfortable with my setup again. I have the case fans set to level 1 (500 RPM) and the Dark Rock Elite in silent mode. Now I have an idle temperature of around 48°C, while gaming and pushing it a bit, it doesn't go above 65-70°C, and in stress tests, it doesn't exceed 84-85°C. All this with the solid/silent panels; I haven't used the mesh ones. For security reasons i have setup thermal limit to 90ºC in bios, with MSI Enhanced Mode 3 PBO settings.

After all this tinkering, I just wanted to reiterate that one of the best options has always been silent bequiet cases (in my opinion, they should be as quiet as possible), which offer excellent airflow, plenty of space, and exceptional quality, as well as fans and heat sinks.

Is my config wrong?

I've recently build a new system using my old and loved case Fractal Pop Silent (ATX Mid-Size) with these new components:

  • PSU: BeQuiet! Dark Power 14 1200W (I've purchased on offer), I know it's oversized
  • MB: MSI MAG X870e Tomahawk WiFi 7 (Latest agesa 1.3.0.1b BIOS)
  • Processor: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Memory: Crucial Pro DDR5 6000 (2x16Gb)
  • Graphic: Gigabyte AORUS RX 9070 XT 16Gb
  • SSD 1-3: 3 x 1Tb Lexar SN750 (Pulled from Lexar USB-C hard disk, purchased on offers)
  • SSD 4: 1 x 2Tb Intel SSD 660P (Old but working flawlessly)
  • AIO: Fractal Lumen S28 with replaced fans to 2x Momentum 14, mounted intake pull on front of the case.
  • FAN: 1 Fractal Momentum 12 pulling air at rear of the case.

My other option is replace AIO with Noctua NH-D15 G2 but i think it's more loud than my current setup.

I know my current AIO position isn't the best, but i don't have enough space to mount tubes at bottom. The pump is on the radiator and it's lower as the tubes, this is not problem, air still at top. No RGB Header connected. Only RGB is on the gpu and because i don't wat install crap software simply to turn off these leds...

I have configured PBO at Motherboard Limits, Scalar to Auto, Core Boost +200Mhz, Curve optimized all cores at -25. AMD EXPO Profile I. X3D Gaming Optimization disabled.

The fractal lumen pump have annoying hifreq sound at 4000RPM so i have downed to 3000RPM with PUMP header manual configured at 8.06V DC and annoying sound dissapeared.

The momentum fans are configured with default MSI Motherboard Curve.

At IDLE it's completely silent with 50ºC in CPU, 40º in the case and 25/26ºC on the room.

At Gaming the temps ups to 70/75º in CPU, 45º in the case.

At Extressing testing the temps not passing 85ºC because i have limited max temp to 85ºC in PBO settings.

25000 Points on Cinebench R23 i think it's fine with thermal limits.

I think that doesn't are terribly for my build to work and gaming, because it's the most time on the 60/70º curve with moderated-heavy load tasks. And the VCORE never pass 1.2V, MEM Voltage at 1.35V.

I Know my first and mayor problem is my case, it doesn't have good airflow, but i'ts very compact, organizated and completely silent, that is my first point to use it.

Anything that i can take care of in my current build?
