Servicing an E2008 without being ripped off - advice please

I need to book a two-year service for my 24MY Peugeot E2008 and Stellantis have been trying for a couple of weeks to get me to book it in with them, but it's £282 or thereabouts.

When they called again today, I asked over the phone for a service schedule because it sounds very expensive and she reeled off a list of things they check. I think the only thing they might change (or top up) is coolant. She was making a big deal of checking suspension, brake discs and pads. Suspension, sure, but brakes? There are also checks for the battery and cables etc.

Am I supposed to be happy to pay nearly £300, which may or may not be the same cost as servicing an ICE 2008, when by her own admission they are pretty much visually checking things and nothing more. It's a service, not an MOT!

Perhaps they might plug in to do a software update, but can't this be done over-the-air? (I've had one update OTA but to be honest I don't know what it did as there was no changelog).

It's my first EV and I am sure other EV owners talk of paying between £60-150, so I am looking for advice - especially any specific places I could look at going to instead (living in south Hertfordshire).

What do other people do with their EVs?

To coincide with today's launch of the Honor 600 series devices, I've created another open Google Photos gallery - for the Honor 600 Pro - to post my own photos and video (and some Google Image to Video content) and I invite other owners to share their own content taken with the phone here too.

I don't make any money from it and I won't be using any of the photos for commercial gain. It's just a gallery for sharing content. It will hopefully grow in time like the other galleries for different models.
