Prompt Question - Simple Image Rotation

I am the middle of scanning/restoring 100s of photos and gave up on my expensive Photoshop. Prompts are working well except for one simple case. Occasionally I simply need to rotate the image 90 degrees (flat 2D "Rotate Canvas"). I cannot get Gemini to do this. It simply ignores everything I try. This is one click in Photoshop (and most image programs).

I google and I get directions for rotating the camera in 3D etc.

Please share with me the magic prompt that will rotate a 2D restored photograph.

Neural Filter Continued Flakiness

I am processing a ton of scanned old prints and my work flow starts with Neural Filter so I am using it heavily. On the older of the two machines I get into the state where it will do a "restore" successfully if I don't touch "Scratch Reduction" but the minute I slide it above 0, the plug-in is disable. Tends not to do this on the newer (somewhat faster machines) as much. On both machines about very 10-15 photos photoshop the neural plugin(s) will just hang Photoshop in the "loading" stage and I had to kill the process (which takes a BUNCH of tries). Usually the same photo works in the restarted photoshop. These continued failures are really slowing down the process and I have 100s of photos to go.

Anyone figure out a way to use this or an alternative? Yes I have tried all the Adobe things like relogin to the cloud, clear the Neural cache, etc. Rearranged my scratch disks. Cleaned my C drive. Logged out of my VPN. Nothing has much of an impact on this neverending-beta plug-in

Thinking about returning to Topaz even though they raised the cost of their products a HUGE amount when they went to a subscription model (gee where did that idea come from?)

Any ideas?

Find Duplicates - Sort by Size?

Looking for a way to get the "Find Duplicates" plug-in to sort by size so I can attack the big books first.

Don't see a way of doing this at first glance.

Anybody figure this out?

Boston Globe: Why has America’s Test Kitchen been laying off staff?

Here in the home of ATK the local paper has an article detailing the negative impact that private equity is having on Test Kitchen.

When private equity-owned Marquee Brands bought America’s Test Kitchen in 2023, the new leaders of the Boston food media company assured employees that they hadn’t arrived to make big changes.

At the time, executives spoke at a town hall meeting, as former employees have since recalled to the Globe. The remarks included a pledge not to make changes to personnel, two of them said. Roughly a month later, however, ATK laid off 23 workers — 10 percent of its workforce — and shuttered ATK Kids, which focused on children’s recipes and books.

In the three years since, the company has conducted two additional rounds of layoffs, including shuttering its Cook’s Country magazine and laying off 24 more employees, in May.

....

Sorry it is behind a paywall but here is a link:

Seeking Ubuntu Alternative

I have been using Ubuntu for many years a hobby OS with my primary working desktop as Windooz. I actually use Raspberry OS a lot more compared to Intelbox-Ubuntu. This last round with 26 LTS has left me so frustrated I am looking for alternatives. I am mostly looking for a Linux that I can access remotely from a W11 desktop. With the Pi-os this was one switch and it just worked. With Ubuntu I have tried everything to get the crappy "Remote Desktop" to work and I give up. So recommendations for a distro that you can actually operate remotely (preferably with VNC)?

Duplicates - Which File Is Played?

I googled around and can't find an answer. When I do a "Get Info" and see multiple files, which one on the list is going to play when I hit the Play button? The first on the list? Last on the list? ??
