Casting the flavour of the week, the guy from Heartstopper and an American Sinister. Top notch again, Kevin.
I watched X-Men 97 Season 2 finale so you don't have to
Thanks god we're done with this. TL;DR: The series is like Tiktok reels where things happens without rhyme or reason. Producers must think that flashy colors and sounds are a good substitute of characters, pacing, tension, themes... like the audience are babies watching the Teletubbies, but at least the Teletubbies teach kids the colors and numbers.
Let's see the most stupid moments:
-The season teased the big battle against Apoclaypse all the time so of course the big final battle is... X-Men vs X-Factor and X-Force. Ok.
-It was presented in the last episode Rogue's gem as something very important but now is destroyed without affecting the story at all.
-Betsy uses the psychic knife (without saying her trademark phrase) against Logan but doesn't work. That always worked on the comics, and animation series, so it's just because.
-After seven seasons (counting the OG series), Scott and Alex still don't know they are brothers.
-Syrin appears as a member of X-Factor. It's never explained when she joined or why. Her character on the comics would have never worked for Val Cooper on that fashion, but characterization is for nerds.
-Gambit charges Madrox's dupes although he can't charge organic matter, and that somehow leaves Jamie unconscious when that should simply have created more dupes.
-Finally, FINALLY, we ahve the final battle against Apocalypse that was promised. But instead of a battle, Rogue touches him and defeats him. The end.
-And the last scene is "btw, Nightcrawler died, bye". And we don't see anyone's reaction to such event.
-Also, it's very funny that episode 7 was wasted on making Colossus join the team just to never use him again.
Just a last thing: I've seen many people saying that all fo this is because they fired Beau DeMayo and rewrote his material. Last year, Beau made a tweet explaining his plans for Season 2 and it was exactly this (Except Onslaught as final villain that apparently was moved to season 3). All of what happened in this eason was what Demayo wrote.
That's all, folks! I hope somebody at Disney has a bit of common sense and scrap the announced Season 3 and 4 after wathcing this shitshow, but we won't be so lucky.
X-Men '97 Season 2 Finale
This is the post for the last episode with spoilers.
For those that say that this season being crap is because Beau's absence: everything was his idea
Supposed genius Beau DeMayo wanted to whitewash Sebastian Shaw
I watched X-Men '97 Season 2 Episode 8 so you don't have to
This series continues being more interested on tiktok edits than having a coherent story or characters.
Do you remember how they have been teasing Apocalypse as the big villain with Gambit as his Gorseman of Death since last season? well, that's solved off-screen. Now is only Gambit with Horseman powers or whatever that wants to bang Rogue again. There is no clash of philosophies or anything just Remy wants his girl back and he's edgy now.
Another thing that has gone completely out of hand is the powers. Charcters have different levels of power from one scene to another. I understand that powers can be modulated along the series to serve the narrative, but this is ridiculous. They need three telekinetics to hold the plane when the last episode Jean could hold by herself Danger's plane.
The action is confusing and doesn't make much sense. Kurt can take down X-Men and X-Force combined just by himself (when they had three telepaths, but ok), and the next second characters that were supposedly down defeat Kurt with no problem.
And many more things that make no sense. the battle is on a swamp of Louisiana, they dedicated half of the season to build the fight about Apocalypse, and the resolution now is against some clonic possesed thiefs on a swamp, what? They hype up Candra so much and Remy one-shot her to give the gem to Rogue (the gem doesn't work like that). Cable is a dick and he betrays his parents, when he shouldn't be at this point... Nothing works with rules that were established previously.
Terrible characterizations, terrible internal consistency, desecrating stories and characters to have one hype moment to post out of context on social media. everything it's lamentable, fortunately there is onyl one episode left (That is about teh conflict with X-Force and X-Factor when the first half of the season was for Apoclaypse, and that conflict only had one episode of build up).

‘X-Men’: Samara Weaving Lands Role Of Emma Frost In Upcoming Marvel Studios Pic
archive.phI watched Spiderman: Brand New Day so you don't have to
As you know, the new Marvel movie is on theatres and have been glazed to death by the habitual Funko critics. If you are here is because you want an actual opinion of someone that isn't an influencer paid to shill the movie. TL;DR it's actually an ad for the other movies. Consume the product and get excited by the next product. If you want some more detial:
The movie starts with a montage of Spidey figthing his villains for 2 seconds. Why would you want to watch that? Fortunately, the movie cuts quickly to cameos of other MCU characters, so you don't have any Spiderman story on your Spiderman movie.
The first one we have is The Punsiher "Let me tell you sum" there is Punisher: One Last Kill on disney Plus, go to renew your subscription.
While Peter investigates the villain of the movie, his first stop is Yelena Belova, so she can remind you to watch Thunderbolts in preparation for Doomsday (and to enjoy Tom Holland's abs if you're into that).
Peter tries to reconnect with Ned and MJ, but of course they have moved on after four years and they have another life. Still, Peter continues obssesed with a woman that has another boyfriend instead of move on himself.
So many (two) characters of previous Spiderman movies can be exhausting, fortunately there's Bruce Banner if you need your MCU fix already. Figthing the Hulk makes a lot of sense for an urban story, good pick by Sony again.
But the funniest part is that the main antagonist of the movie is ANOTHER AD FOR A FUTURE MCU MOVIE. When Peter reads the name of Jean Grey there are 10 seconds of silence so the audience can applaud.
To finish, the final battle is Spidey against The Hand (for some reason the Hand is in this movie), and Peter says that Jean "is not a killer" ,although she actually killed an innocent man, and let her go. And Punisher let her go too!!!!
What you are all waiting , the postcredits, clearly reinforces the message of the movie that is no other that "you can already buy your tickets for Avengers: Doomsday in theatres in December".
I don't know you guys, but I can't wait to watch Doomsday so I can get excited for the next movie instead of watching a story that makes sense.
I watched X-Men '97 Season 2 Episode 7 so you don't have to
The show continues being like those tiktok telenovelas with fruits made with AI. Things happen at supersonic speed and nothing actually matters because we're already on the next plot that we have to burn to jump to the next plot. Character assasinations this episode:
-The tradition of killing off important characters for no reason continues. This time, Magik dies like Pa Kent on Man of Steel.
-Scott and Jean watch the Acolytes on TV, and that's they only showing on the episode. Scott Summers, the first X-Man, continues having 0 relevance to the plot of a series called X-Men since Episode 1 of this season.
-The first apperance of Colossus on the series (and the second counting the OG series) is as an Acolyte. The story that showed that Piotr reached his breaking point, with the objective of creating a great contrast with the Colossus we knew, here it's his first apperance. Someone that watches this series without prior knowledge would never know that Piotr is a sensible artist that doesn't like violence but understands can be necessary sometimes, a loyal X-Man and friend, he's just a dick.
-Exodus like beacause Creed shoot him on the back. Really. The inmortal crusader that lived for 8 centuries and could hold his own against the X-Men and F4 combined died because a human shoot him once. Another great antagonist that had relation with Apocalypse (who supposedly it's the main plot of this season) killed off for absolutely no reason.
-Also, the show is building a sexual tension between Polaris and Bishop. Who asked for that?
To close, three filler episodes ina row in a season of 9 episodes and still haven't see anything about Apoclypse's plot on the present. And of course all of those glazing the show non-stop will never apologize.
Until next week!
How many times this has to happen so Hollywood stop calling Jared Leto?
Spiderman: Brand New Day spoilers post
This is the post to talk about spoilers if you want during the first week. I'm going to be extra hard with posts that have spoilers on the title/pic.
Spiderman: Brand new Day social media reactions ar enot good
https://x.com/bigtunaonfilm/status/2081968026673455241
#SpiderManBrandNewDay is not only my least favorite of the Tom Holland Spidey films, but one of the worst movies of the MCU as a whole. It's tremendously ugly with atrocious CGI and unintelligible action, and the emotional beats are hokey. A big disappointment.

In #SpiderManBrandNewDay, Peter Parker finds himself in need of a helping hand as he fights to keep his forgotten identity from succumbing to a grab-bag script of MCU growing pains. Certainly not amazing nor spectacular, but maybe the funniest Takis commercial ever produced.

Unfortunately, the film mirrors Spider-Man 3 in being overstuffed with far too many elements and having stop-start pacing. The humor doesn’t land, in part due to how disappointingly relegated to the background Ned is.

Since it's Grace Randolph, a positive review means the opposite.
https://x.com/katiesmovies/status/2081967907102408953
#SpiderManBrandNewDay suffers from the same problem as many post-Endgame movies: it feels like a stepping stone rather than a cohesive standalone film. It's not the most egregious example of this. Peter & Frank are a great duo. Story/structure is messy, but it's pretty good.
Since only shills are invited to those events, 1 bad review is a bad sign. So many mixed reactions is the kiss of death.
I heard the reactions of IGN, the Playlist and DiscussingFilma were bad too, but couldn't find them on their accounts, if someone could link them on the comments it would be appreciated.
