I thought DC was going to be a clever nod at writing Nathan out of the show

I’m glad it’s not, but when the idea of him moving to DC came up I immediately told my wife, “Oh that’s going to happen.” She asked me why I think so and I said, “Nathan Fillion is now playing Green Lantern. He might have too busy of a schedule so the show is writing him off and saying he left for ‘DC’. Green Lantern is DC Comics.“

I finally found a whiskey I like neat! Any more suggestions?

I’m really trying to get into whiskey neat. I’ve always liked whiskey and coke and old fashions but I have wanted to get into whiskey neat for a while.

Outside of flavored whiskeys (doughball, Jack Honey, etc) I’ve had some trouble. I went through an entire bottle of Tilamore Dew neat a year or two ago (at the time I had given up on bourbons and wanted to try Irish Whiskey), but tbf I was drinking it wrong. I was under the impression, because of tv, you put like half a shot of whiskey in a glass, shoot it back, and then keep drinking. I don’t even remember what Tilamore Dew. I just remember multiple nights of being pretty intoxicated this way.

Well recently I’ve been watching a bunch of YouTubers trying whiskey and recommend it and showing ways to drink whiskey neat. I’ve now tried Old Number 7 Jack (I live in TN, really close to Lynchburg, so this was obviously a first) and hated it. I tried Buffalo Trace neat (my whiskey of choice for old fashions) and while it was definitely better, I still wasn’t the biggest fan (though I hadn’t really figured out the burn yet). Well, because so many YouTubers recommended it, I got 4 Roses Single Barrel and I love it. Idk if I love it because of the flavor or if I love it because I’m actually picking up more than just ethanol. Like I can taste a floral flavor. I can taste some sort of nuttiness (Which I know isn’t in the flavor profile so I may be misinterpreting a flavor but it’s still something). Prior to this I felt like the whiskeys I tried just tasted like whiskey. I could tell a difference but I couldn’t tell you what the difference was.

Anyway, all of this is to say, can I get some more recommendations for building my palette? For reference, I’ve also had Jim Beam vanilla which I thought was okay, I used to drink crown Royal on ice (wasnt good, but I thought if I powered through it would get good). And I’ve had Jim Beam black label and rye both of which I hated. But I think these were also mixers.

For future games, I hope there’s more to do in cities outside of quests

Until the Oblivion remaster, I never really played these games focusing on immersion. I fast traveled everywhere. I ran from quest to quest. etc.

Well while playing the Oblivion remaster I’ve really delved into stuff to make it more immersive. I don’t fast travel almost at all. At night I sleep, I wake up early, go to the nearest church and pray (my guy is a crusader for the Nine), then I begin my long journeys. If my journey takes too long and it begins to get dark, I’ll find a close city or village, either rent a room or sleep at a Fighter’s Guild outpost. Then repeat.

But in doing this, I’ve discovered a severe lack of things to do in cities to make time pass. Often times if I arrive in a city at midday, and my next ride is clearly going to take me into the night, I’d rather sleep and get up early than take off, it get dark, and me have to find a town. But theres nothing to do to pass time.

I think an easy way to fix this would be to make time jump when you do things in cities. Like, if I go to a Church and pray, make an hour or so pass. If I go to an Inn and eat food make 30 minutes to an hour pass. If I go somewhere and sit and pull out a book, make time move at like 2x speed. If I go to a Tavern and begin drinking, make two or three hours pass. Which takes me into another idea.

Add where when you go to Inns and Taverns, you can buy stuff to put in your inventory but you can also buy things to consume immediately. Like alcohol or food. And have an animation of your character drinking/eating. Also add little fun things. Like maybe you walk into a tavern and it’s kind of boring. By the time you’ve had your third drink and it’s later in the night, the tavern is full of drunks dancing and singing and you can join in. Or maybe someone picks a fight with you. If you go into the church during specific hours, maybe a lot of people are in there worshiping or maybe one of the priests for that God is saying things about the God (like a service) or maybe there’s unique things at some churches (like maybe a wedding might occur at a Mara Church).

Skyrim allows us to do jobs around cities like blacksmithing, fishing, wood cutting, etc but these don’t pass time and most people don’t do these for immersion reasons but rather for the benefits or for exploits. I’d like stuff that really makes the world feel lived in.

The first four are: Daredevil, Gambit, Bullseye, and Scarlet Witch in DCUO.

The next five are: Jason Todd, Matt Murdock, Kate Kane Batwoman, Thor, and Nora Fries In Lego Batman 2.

Lego Batman 2 has very VERY limited options which is why Thor and Nora are in there at all. Both of those slots required me to have a red cape and a freeze gun so I did what I could lol.

As for DCUO, I’ve been playing off and on for years with my own custom character. Well recently I’ve been feeling a lack of Daredevil games so I decided to boot up DCUO and make Daredevil. After about an hour and a half of running around I realized I could probably make some other characters too. I’ve always been a big fan of DCUO, but it wasn’t till after making Gambit that I realized, DCUO needs so much more love. It’s definitely a little outdated but as far as MMOs go, the gameplay is really fun and the amount you can do is awesome. I truly felt like Gambit, Bullseye, and Daredevil running around the game. It didn’t feel forced. For Daredevil I was using abilities that involved zip lines and dual wielding escrima sticks. For Gambit I had a purple glowing staff and was using powers that involved me throwing things. For Bullseye I had dual pistols, need I say more?

Anyway, probably about to sink about another 100 hours into each of those characters now.
