About a year prior, Cena confirmed how he would end 2025 as a retired in-ring competitor. Not everyone liked that he tapped-out to Gunther, but that’s how pro wrestling operates.

The biggest issue, and Cena admitted this during the PLE, is how the WWE is still figuring out what’s next. It’s been almost two months and outside of Cena making the announcement, WWE has not made any public comments. Right away, this yells problem.

Cena is one of those rare superstars who comes along every decade. You can boo or cheer the man and he doesn’t care. Give Cena a task and he will complete whatever is put in-front of him. So, with a totally new concept coming from his mouth to result in nothing (so far), it proves how WWE makes poor calls on the fly. 2 months after the announcement of the John Cena Classic, the WWE has done absolutely nothing to promote their newest idea.

Last year, Gunther retired John Cena in what was booked as his final match. He will likely keep his word and never wrestle again. It’s not like his departure was a sudden surprise. About a year prior, Cena confirmed how he would end 2025 as a retired in-ring competitor. Not everyone liked that he tapped-out to Gunther, but that’s how pro wrestling operates.

Instead of staying off TV for a lengthy stretch, Cena has remained part of WWE for select moments. He was the official host of WrestleMania 42 and at Backlash on May 9, he promised a major announcement. During the PLE from Tampa, the John Cena Classic was announced. Some details were released, but not much. More at https://yourprowrestlinghq.substack.com/p/john-cena-classic-remains-mystery

With today being July 4th, we look at 4 WWE wrestlers who loved to show their passion for the United States of America.

Kurt Angle

If you didn’t know, Kurt Angle won a gold medal at the Olympics with a broken freakin neck. Just representing the United States at the Olympics would have been enough. Angle is always wearing American themed colors, from his boots to his singlet to the flag and/or coat across his back. Arguably one of the toughest wrestlers outside of the ring, do not anger him. In his prime, Angle was a wrestling machine whose passion was almost unmatchable. I always think, if Angle defeated the best in the world at wrestling on his way to wearing gold while severely injured, then the tasks ahead are all accomplishable. Today, everyone in the United States is celebrating. 250 years ago, the country was formed on July 4th and we have continued to strive ahead. Lots of people will flock the beaches and boardwalks, while others rely on pools or nature.

Hulk Hogan

Heading to the ring, fans would hear “Real American” by Rick Derringer throughout the arenas. The first few lines from Hulk Hogan’s entrance music summed up America with: “I am a real American, Fight for the rights of every man, I am a real American, Fight for what’s right, Fight for your life!” All these years later and that song has become a staple in pro wrestling. The Hogan character was about eating your vitamins and saying prayers, while pumping some iron or body slamming a giant. There are lots of people who question if Hogan was even a good person. For now, we are just focused on how he represented America in a positive way. Find more https://yourprowrestlinghq.substack.com/p/four-wwe-wrestlers-that-represent

Four WWE Wrestlers That Represent The United States Of American This July 4th

Today, everyone in the United States is celebrating. 250 years ago, the country was formed on July 4th and we have continued to strive ahead. Lots of people will flock the beaches and boardwalks, while others rely on pools or nature. Also, barbecuing will be taking place in all fifty states and the night will conclude with fireworks.

Somewhere, in all of today’s fun, check the four WWE wrestlers who are known to heavily represent America this July 4th.

“American Badass” The Undertaker

We have seen many versions of The Undertaker, including “The American Badass.” He is still able to keep that fear, without the need for the trench coat like clothing and hat. Instead, he replaced those items with a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, sunglasses and bandanna. Kid Rock once provided the lyrics for his entrance, appropriately titled “American Bad Ass.” If you see that version of The Undertaker coming, still run. Lately, fans are learning to adapt to a retired form of The Undertaker. His current look is similar to that of “The American Badass.” The biggest difference is instead of snatching souls, he now has the honor to tell people they are going into the WWE Hall of Fame. Danhausen Should Curse These 3 WWE Superstars Next, Including Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green

Currently, Chelsea Green seems to be working more as a face than heel. To be honest, she can make her character go in either direction with little to no problems. She is simply that talented when it comes to being on the mic. Up until now, Danhausen has only been placing curses on the heels. I think going the direction of Green, as a face, could create some moments never before seen. Maybe, Danhausen makes it so Green is unable to speak or when she cuts a promo, someone else’s voice is presented over the sound system. Imagine, how WWE had Funaki cut promos during the Attitude Era. Do the same with Green. More here https://yourprowrestlinghq.substack.com/p/danhausen-should-curse-these-3-wwe

Danhausen Should Curse These 3 WWE Superstars Next, Including Adam Pearce

Danhausen joined WWE and his debut was met with mostly negative remarks. Then, WWE sort of let the former AEW wrestler do his thing. The result has been great as he cursed several superstars such as The Miz, Kit Wilson, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan. As a result, we are seeing title changes and some superstars are actually getting TV storylines.

I’m glad WWE didn’t drop Danhausen after his shaky debut. Now, I doubt his gimmick will last years as fans will grow tired. However, until that day, let him continue to curse anyone in the WWE who deserves it. Therefore, these 3 WWE superstars need to be cursed next by Danhausen. The Vision were supposed to be the future, but the stable has been riddled with injuries and now WWE needs to decide if they should end those plans.

Even keeping Breakker and Heyman together is questionable. A year ago, Breakker looked like he was on the path given to Oba Femi. Breakker should have defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania and possibly even retire “The Beast” at SummerSlam. Reed is a great talent for someone his size, but he is not world championship material. Logan is someone who is likely going to get a chance at the top. Theory is just not on par with the other superstars.

Now comes a critical moment for WWE. Should they try to get The Vision back on track or look for other programs. I say drop the entire idea. Don’t even have the members (or what’s left), keeping going. Fans have checked-out and understandably so. My vision, is WWE forgets about The Vision they created. At WrestleMania 41 Paul Heyman left with Seth Rollins to close the first night. The turn wasn’t shocking as many speculated Heyman would turn his back to CM Punk and Roman Reigns. From there, Rollins and Heyman would begin to build The Vision.

In the beginning, Rollins and Heyman felt like a fresh combination. It was something new and both are known to be rather good at messing with the minds of others. Adding members along the way was always the plan and eventually they would turn on Rollins. However, WWE kept shifting the program and making adjustments to make everyone look strong. In the end, nobody gained much from what should have been the stable of the year.

The Vision Has Been A Mess And WWE Needs To Drop The Stable

At WrestleMania 41 Paul Heyman left with Seth Rollins to close the first night. The turn wasn’t shocking as many speculated Heyman would turn his back to CM Punk and Roman Reigns. From there, Rollins and Heyman would begin to build The Vision.

At various points, the group consisted of Rollins, Heyman, Bronson Reed, Bronn Breakker, Logan Paul and Austin Theory. Everyone in the stable, outside of Heyman and Theory, were sidelined due to injury at some point. The biggest injury went to Rollins, who was later booted from the group by Breakker. Reed went down with a bicep tear and he is yet to return to TV. Breakker underwent emergency hernia surgery and he didn’t receive a match at WrestleMania 42. Paul will be out until early next year following a torn bicep. Basically, the crew has struggled to make an impression because of all the medical issues. The July 2 Quiz is out, as we play The Book of AEW.

Last night delivered a dynamic matchup between MJF and Mark Briscoe to open AEW Dynamite.

So, how well do you know MJF? Before dominating AEW as the “Salt of the Earth,” a 5-year-old MJF appeared on ‘The Rosie O’Donnell Show’ in 2001 and told her it was his dream to become what?

WWE can, and should, go with Punk vs Rhodes at SummerSlam. I understand both are some of the top babyfaces in WWE and those matches are usually tough to sell. Still, Rhodes vs Punk is something we haven’t seen before. They did meet in like 2008, but that was a dark match and a lot has changed.

Now, if they wrestle more than once outside of SummerSlam, then WWE could make some drastic tweaks. Punk turning heel would not be shocking and he could easily pull off the task. Arguably, heel Punk is better than babyface Punk. I’m hesitant on saying the same goes for Rhodes. We haven’t seen too much of heel Rhodes, but he did make that attitude work on occasion. CM Punk Vs Cody Rhodes Needs One Change Before Likely WWE SummerSlam Match

Right after WrestleMania 42, CM Punk took a much deserved break from WWE. In the few months he was away, not much changed in the title picture. It seemed like a return against either Rhodes or Roman Reigns for a title would be next. Until, Night of Champions where Sami Zayn pinned Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. While Sami winning gold has changed the projection for many fans, it does not affect one particular match.

Still, Rhodes vs Punk is something we haven’t seen before. They did meet in like 2008, but that was a dark match and a lot has changed for both individuals over the span of 17 years. While WWE could easily turn one superstar heel, I don’t know if it’s the right moment. More at https://yourprowrestlinghq.substack.com/p/cm-punk-vs-cody-rhodes-needs-one

I’ll put it to you this way, unless Reigns vs Rollins is going to make you boycott the event, stop complaining. That is a great match that could sell the PLE alone. We have seen both wrestlers battle and each time, everything went great. Reigns cannot work against new wrestlers for every program.

We learned on RAW three of the matches that are set for SummerSlam. Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins, Iyo Sky vs Liv Morgan and Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell. All are rematches, with some of the previous bouts being less than a week old. Naturally, fans were critical of the contests. In particular, the Undisputed WWE Championship match is getting the most slack.

To me, Reigns has seemingly wrestled all the top names in WWE. Yes, there are plenty of superstars who are yet to step inside the ring, but not so many big names. The wrestlers being discussed are still finding their place on the main roster. With SummerSlam being one of WWE’s top shows, they need to promote a card that sells a ton of tickets for an extraordinary amount of money and makes fans at home want to pause their actual summer plans. We know one of the marquee matches at WWE SummerSlam is Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins and fans need to simply stop complaining.

Considering they were 2/3 The Shield, it is only natural they work opposite each other at various times. With Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley to AEW fans) not an option, WWE will keep those two in singles action. I mean, there is always the possibility of making a triple threat type bout, but Reigns vs Rollins sells itself. A gimmick match is not even needed as those produce telling TV after working together for almost 14 years.

So far, SummerSlam is a stacked card and we still need to see where some names like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and Randy Orton land. Turning the event into a two day extravaganza is working for 2026 as the current lineup, all three matches, could each close SummerSlam. To the fans of WWE, We've got a bit of throwback trivia tonight for the quiz. Who knows their stuff?

The Monday Night RAW following King of the Ring has delivered some big past twists.

Which wrestler infamously invoked his rematch clause at RAW in 1998 to win back the WWF Championship title he’d lost the night before at King of the Ring?

With a deep roster of talent across their RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and Evolve brands, a WWE Superstar has to be a master on the mat, behind the mic, and on camera to stand out. The power dynamic is always shifting with roster changes, heel turns, new storylines, and explosive matches.

So, which WWE wrestlers deserve the coveted spots of being in the top 10 for June? Who did we miss? And, who does not belong? More at https://yourprowrestlinghq.substack.com/p/pwhq-power-rankings-january-2026

You might think I'm really reaching, but Sami Zayn should defeat Oba Femi at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

On Monday’s RAW, have Oba set his sights on Sami. Perhaps, have those two close the first night of SummerSlam because I don’t see a title change happening. Instead, Lesnar should return and cost Femi the title. From here, WWE could drag Lesnar vs Femi until WrestleMania 43 or have them book the trilogy for night 2 of SummerSlam. The only downside about booking the match at SummerSlam, is the promotion doesn’t have time to promote the match to sell more tickets and eyes from home. I still think the idea is still for Femi to retire Lesnar. More at https://yourprowrestlinghq.substack.com/p/sami-zayn-should-defeat-oba-femi
