Dystopian or sci fi thrillers

Hi All,

I'm looking for my next audiobook fix but I want something a little different from the conventional thriller.

I'd love something either set in the future, dystopian or sci fi but it needs to still have that suspense, twist style plot. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone read books by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)

I've seen a few books in the supermarket, they looked very detailed and intriguing but not sure if I should commit. Thoughts...

The community in this sub, thank you

This sub feels like it has the most chilled none toxic people on Reddit. Everyone is so good, I've seen several very similar questions posted and every time people are almost excited to give their recommendations, trust me, that is such a help because I'm always looking for suggestions and because of the repeat questions being answered by amazing people I've found some absolute gems.

This is my favourite sub, please don't change.

Tapo D235 doorbell issues...solved?

I bought this doorbell and it worked fine for 6 weeks then it constantly started dropping out and disconnecting. I followed all the sets of reconnecting, rebooting etc, same issue.

I sent it off to tapo and they refunded me. I still needed a doorbell, after looking at the market I desperately wanted the tapo one to work because it is a good product...so, I bought another d235.

Within the first day it showed the same behaviour. So I made the following changes and it has worked perfectly since (3 days) but I'll be monitoring.

Firstly I have a BT/EE home hub. I decided to create a separate SSID for it, I changed my channel from start channel to channel 1 (based on the utilisation of the houses in the area) but what I think really made the difference was fixing the IP address. I have a feeling that if it's on DHCP and there is an IP address change it drops out. It can't be the signal, it's 20ft from the router with very good rssi, the channel change with ssid isolation and fixed IP has made it a solid performer.

Fall off aging like fine wine

When the fall off first came out I was happy with it but I felt like it was missing something, some bite, I wanted to hear the Cole that was on a lyrical tear between 2021 and 2024, if we got the fall off then we may have got that.

Obviously the beef derailed it and we now have this album. After listening to Iceman which is very mid what I appreciate from Cole is the authenticity of doing it for him and the city. Drake is addressing something 2 years too late, Cole addressed it quickly and moved on to making music he wanted. When I listen to hit the gas, bunce road, 39 intro, legacy (this list is endless) I just appreciate his perspective. I love albums which have soul and the fall off definitely has that. For me there's no comparison, the fall off is head and shoulders better than Iceman and currently the album of the year.

It just shows there is no replacement for being authentic.

Art Vs numbers

This last drake release like most of his others always creates a divide. Yes the albums are getting spoken about but the majority of the chat is around how many records it's broken and the records it will break.

Popularity doesn't equal good music. Drake definitely has some good songs on iceman but it's a little underwhelming, no real consistency, constant shots at everyone, no real chance in topics, it's like for all the dogs without the features. I think he tried to sharpen his pen but it wasn't enough.

Maybe I'm wrong and the album is good but monthly down the line I feel like his singles will stand out but the album and the body of work will be forgotten, like sexy songs and for all the dogs. He just makes mid.

Hi all, I'm new to piano, I've been learning for around 2 months, I'm learning via simply piano and unfortunately I don't get much time to get actual lessons.

I found that my note identification for the treble clef is much better than the bass clef. I often freeze, cannot find the starting position and misread the sheet music.

Are there any tips or learning aids anyone uses to help learn the bass clef notes?
