RTX 5080 - shader recommendations / sob story warning

So I did it. I finally ordered the parts for my pc I've wanted to build for years. TLDR: recommend me some beautiful intensive shaders.

This may seem really silly to have invested so much money into a pc mainly to play minecraft. 'Sob' story incoming.

I've always loved minecraft, and it's been a huge part of my life for 14 years. I started off playing various free rip offs, then the lite version, then pocket edition, and then finally xbox 360. At age 11 I played java with my brother on my mum's cheap, crappy laptop. At age 14, I got the privelege on playing on a very, very cheap pc that could barely play vanilla survival without crashing.

But I loved every second. I consumed so much minecraft content and no other game compares. DanTDM, Pat and Jen, the dreaded DreamSMP, Hermitcraft, etc etc. I'm even in stampy's love garden. But I could never properly play myself, I could only watch my older brother in jealousy.

For the past year, I saved up £3k in preparation to build the most excessive gaming PC imaginable for my 20th birthday at the end of this month. I ended up choosing an RTX 5080, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB RAM, and 2TB SSD. I also ordered an OLED ultrawide 34" monitor in 1440p. And yes, I want to play other games too, but honestly... I just wanna play minecraft...

Anyway, in commemoration, I want to test out some of the most beautiful shaders minecraft has to offer, so I thought I'd ask on this sub. Please give me your favourites, but also the most demanding, just for fun. Especially shaders that look beautiful in ultra-wide OLED. Thanks :D

Herman Miller Sayl

Just impulsively bought a Herman Miller Sayl Office chair in white with a purple frame for £158.40 (~$212) second hand. Wanted a chair for my new PC setup that wouldn't absolutely destroy my back but still looked relatively cute, but most chairs online were way past my budget...

Anyway, I'm sort of regretting it now. I had previously ordered a gaming chair from Amazoon for much less but the order got cancelled. Maybe for the better, because after doing some research, I discovered how bad gaming chairs are for your back, and at 19, I want to make sure I don't make my (already terrible) posture even worse!

Would like to hear some opinions on this chair - is it comfy for long gaming sessions, studying, etc? Any downsides? Please help me rationalise my impulsive decision, lol.

Aesthetics or power — RTX 5070Ti vs RTX 5080?

I have about £3.2k to play around with, including peripherals.

Is it ever worth it to get the RTX 5080 over the 5070Ti? For context, I am planning on getting:
-Ryzen 7 9800X3D
-32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM (2x16gb)
-Asus B650E motherboard
-Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD

However, I’m stuck figuring out how to allocate the rest of my budget. I would love a 21:9 curved OLED monitor in 1440p, and my eye is very much drawn to the Lian Li O11 dynamic EVO RGB case, which is pretty pricey. Essentially, my brain wants performance, but my heart wants aesthetics…

My boyfriend thinks that no matter what, I should choose the best GPU I can afford, and upgrade fans / case / everything else later. He also says that the wide display will be really annoying to deal with — but I’m more interested in playing atmospheric games with a lot of immersion, which is why I love the look of the wide screens.

However, I am an artist hoping to use my pc for blender, streaming, video editing, etc, so part of me thinks I should spend more on the GPU.

I am aware that the RTX 5080 does not drastically increase performance compared to the 5070Ti, but I’ve also seen people sharing a variety of experiences… any thoughts? Thanks :)
