What story choice options would you want if there were a theoretical expansion?

I know this is not remotely in the cards, but indulge me. In the last day or 2 I played DBH a lot (did so to finally get all achievements which I just did tonight, "I'll Be Back" was the last one and pretty fun) and I started thinking about how cool it would be if there were an option for Markus (or Connor in games where Markus is gone and Connor takes his place) to fight and kill Perkins. That guy sucks big time and it would be fun to kill him.

I guess it makes perfect sense why this isn't an option because he's a relatively high-ranking FBI agent and it would be odd for him to take part in the actual battle/defend the camps from Markus. He wouldn't be the one getting his hands dirty. Even so, I'm sure there could be some scenario that would make sense for Markus to find and fight him - maybe after storming the camps Markus has an option to track down a fleeing Perkins and his small FBI team to get revenge. Regardless, I just wanted to kill that mfer and wish I could.

Some similar games that give players many choices for branches stories like Knights of the Old Republic have received unofficial expansions, often from fans (I think sometimes using files of stories/options that were originally written and intended to be in the game but were eventually discarded by the devs). Let's just fantasize - are there any story options/player choices you wish could be added to create some new resolutions in this way? I'd love to hear any. So far killing that backstabbing fuck is all I've got.

Low effort Yestiplex fan solution

I'm mostly posting this because someone in the replies to their own thread asked for a pic and it doesn't seem to let me attach this there. This is my very low effort solution to the cooling issues with the GPU right up against the PSU in SFF Optiplexes (this is a 5060).

40 mm thin Noctua fan is velcro'd to the power supply (not sure if this is bad/will result in melting velcro but it's been fine for months) and the Yeston 3050 is in the upper slot to give it room to breathe.

I know that means a performance hit but for me the lack of noise and throttling/overheating issues seems to make it worth it. The GPU usually sits around 80 degrees C in demanding games at the high end, though this summer with hot temps in my upper floor apartment it's gone as high as 84. Much better than the previous ~90 and the noise is way more manageable.

I also left the bottom slot open in the back. I'm guessing it'd be better to have it enclosed but with wire/mesh or whatever that is but hey, like I said, this is low effort. There's also an Arctic fan for front intake, maybe 80mm? I can't remember. Anyways that's all. If anyone knows more than me about how much the upper PCIe slot limits GPU performance please weigh in, I don't think I'm losing a ton of performance but I also don't know that much.

Is this a decent build? Any suggestions?

Hey. I’m building my first PC soon (have only ever added a GPU to a Dell Optiplex so far). This is what I’m looking at from Micro Center at the moment with a bundle (plus buying another stick of RAM separately).

I also have a few SATA SSDs I can move over to this PC to augment storage. This would be for gaming, probably in 1080p or 1440p. So far I’ve been gaming on a 3050 6gb and an i5-8500 so I think this would be a big improvement.

After playing the first game, hearing plot details for 2 annoys me

I’ll preface this by saying I’ve only just started 2. But I’ve been less spoiler-averse for this compared to the first game. And the grand plot details I've heard kinda piss me off, I can’t lie!

The one that upsets me is the idea of Revan’s motivations for defying the Council and going to war against Mandalore being retconned. I’ve heard that while it isn’t presented as 100% certain in KOTOR 2 that Revan actually did this all to harden the galaxy for a greater threat, it is heavily indicated at least. Again, please tell me if this might not be true as I haven’t experienced it yet. But if it is, it upsets me with how it flies in the face of what I enjoyed about the first game. It seems like a bad retcon.

The backstory of Revan and Malak being headstrong and ambitious enough to go to war (in an arguably good cause) against the cautious wishes of the Council is a way better story. That’s part of what drew me into the series in the first place. There are some interesting political themes surrounding war - even when directed against a target who genuinely “deserves” it, often the true motivation of those going to war is their own desire for glory and power. Parallels to Iraq 2003 or Iran today. Whether Revan were just impatient/young/brash and eventually became selfish/power-hungry after going to war or whether they were already power-hungry before the war is unclear, but either way this poses interesting questions about war, politics, personal morality, etc. If really Revan was just some Chosen One with special knowledge that he *had* to go to war now to stop some bigger evil later, it cheapens the backstory that so interested me in KOTOR in the first place.

Not to mention the presence of evil and why it exists seems much more grounded, realistic, and less supernatural in the original. Revan and Malak were normal people (or whatever the hell Malak is) who changed over time for the worse. It seems like the sequel relies more on some dark, looming threat of pure supernatural evil. That's a yawn from me if true. EDIT: I feel like in the same way Episode IX suddenly plops some "Sith Eternal" threat that's been hiding out of reach for decades, this is a bad plot in KOTOR 2. It's like if we found out there's a secret, more dangerous Mordor if you keep walking way past Mordor. Come on man. That's bad writing. Use the universe (or galaxy if we're being literal) that you're already working in.

Please tell me if this story isn’t necessarily true in KOTOR 2.

Did anyone see the big twist coming? I feel like I should have

So I finished the game today for the first time, miraculously without spoilers. First, wow, I fucking loved it and that’s coming from someone unaccustomed to RPGs.

But my question is about the big twist. At some point in the game someone questions whether Revan is truly dead, and I took this as a pretty big hint that he was still alive. Carth also wonders why the Jedi would send you, such a new padawan, on this mission with Bastila. He was also suspicious of your initial placement on the Endar Spire given it happened last minute

I feel like these are pretty big hints. Did any of you (or anyone you know) see the twist coming? I spent much of the game wondering about the truth behind this. I wondered if Bastila was secretly evil from the start and using you to sabotage the Republic. Which made 0 sense because she was the key to their victories. (Edit: now I remember that Carth’s suspicion about now easily the Vulkars took Bastila prisoner set off my suspicion towards her, but that was before I realized Carth is just paranoid)

They went out of their way to point out that the main character was not just some random stand in for the audience but someone with a mysterious, even suspicious origin story. All in a game with “your choices define the type of person you are, anyone can change” as its message.

What I’m trying to say is I can’t believe I missed it. I wonder if others felt this way. But to be fair, I did know a big twist existed, so I was primed to be suspicious (even moreso than the game naturally does to you). Anyways thanks for reading, please share any thoughts if you have ‘em!
