Strange behavior?

Found outside a concert venue in San Diego. Never seen such a mass migration like this.

Just moved and it feels like I’m losing my friends.

Wondering if anyone else had this experience. My (32F) husband and I recently moved from San Diego, CA to just outside Minneapolis, MN. I grew up in San Diego and left behind some really close friends. And by that I mean we’d talk in some way everyday kind of friends - either a phone call, text, Instagram DM…just always something. Friends I’ve known for 10-15 years. We were all so so sad when the time finally came to say goodbye, but they also recognized this was a great opportunity for us and were supportive through the whole process.

Since we moved and got settled, I’ve noticed everyone has started being really…quiet. Ive been reaching out to them and it’s taken days sometimes longer to get a response. I feel like I’ve been doing a majority of the reaching out too. I recognize we have lives, they’re processing the change on their end, and I’m maybe more sensitive to these natural ebbs and flows while adjusting to our new normal. But man…it sucks feeling like your friends are fading.

My husband has moved to different states before and he said this is a pretty common experience, but I guess I thought it would take longer for things to change. I do plan on talking to my friends about how I’m feeling, and maybe it’s just going to be our new normal now, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
