This is the Impericon version. Mine has a lot of white on it but I love the look of watercolor running it ended up having.

The design is gorgeous! The tracklist especially is beautiful. I only wish the two inner sleeves had different prints, but that's nitpicking. I appreciate Periphery for sticking to their guns about graphic design over the textless photo trend. On the big sleeve, it still has a lot of impact despite being a more simple, bold design. There are little specks of that off-white scattered across the outer covers and it's subtle but does so much for me.

Loving the synths on APWD

I like metal with synths and Periphery has had incredible electronics for a long time, but the style on APWD somehow feels a little different to me than on their previous albums and I love it!

I stayed up to listen right at midnight, so perhaps the setting helped, but sonically the album really drives home the feeling of loneliness to me. The synths feel like they float and echo, some bits seem to twinkle in a way that makes me vaguely think of a digital music box. When the speculation about the title happened, I thought the title made me feel small. Staring into the open black sky and realizing your world is just a tiny speck in the universe, much like those giant stars out there are just little dots above you. I think sometimes coexisting with others can feel the same way, forever out of reach yet just in view. That's what the album sounds like to me too, it's so incredibly beautiful.

I've always liked the most electronic songs so many people hated. I love Crush but Blackwall encapsulates what I mean exactly and may seriously rival it.

How much do people remember The Idol?

I'm kind of curious about it because it caused fuzz a few years ago and everyone dunked on it. Did it actually leave a stain and are people likely to bring it up when it comes to The Weeknd?

For the record, everything I saw about The Idol looked terrible. I heard it was in production hell and kind of a disaster writing wise. However, a lot of people were on the project and I think it's unfair to equate an artist's beliefs to their art. It came off creepy and Sam Levinson is (likely) creepy, but what matters more is how an artist acts in real life and treats their collaborators (and it seems to me people Abel worked with speak quite highly of him, so there's that.) I'm a hobby writer myself, and I think Abel mentioned a lot of very daring, sleazy films he likes. It is very easy to fuck up that sort of thing and have it come across all sorts of wrong, especially for someone with no experience.

I'm going to the EU tour coming up. I love the music, but I also live with people and kind of worry about being questioned or have it look like I stand for shit I really don't stand for. I know I shouldn't let that ruin my enjoyment, but I am a needlessly anxious person. So, is it something the GP or general pop audience is likely to remember much at all, did the dust on that disaster settle by now, or is it like over-over for public reputation?

Favorite male character artists?

I'm always looking for more artists to commission in the future and since I'll finally be able to treat myself again a little soon, I wanted to ask for recommendations.

It can be tough finding artists for male characters especially, so please comment ones you like! I do prefer pretty boys (you know, beautiful man bishie archetype and such), so I'd appreciate recommendations in that direction specifically.

Thank you!
