Hi everyone,
I have a question about AOS (I-485) processing times for the F2A category.
For those who are adjusting status as the unmarried child under 21 of a green card holder (F2A), does the I-485 process usually move at about the same speed as it does for spouses or other immediate relatives of U.S. citizens once the priority date is current?
Or is AOS for F2A generally processed more slowly even after the priority date becomes current?
My priority date is April 23, 2024, and I’m planning to file my AOS package next week. I’ve already seen a few people with similar priority dates who have had their interviews and even received approvals. Based on recent experiences, when do you think I could realistically expect approval if I file next week?
I’m interested in hearing about your personal experiences or anything you’ve seen recently.

My mother is a lawful permanent resident (green card holder) and filed Form I-130 for me in April 2024 under the F2A category.
What is the likelihood that my Form I-130 will be approved without an interview?
I understand that USCIS may request an interview in some family-based cases, but I would like to know how common interview waivers are for F2A petitions involving an unmarried child under 21 of a permanent resident.
I am currently in the United States on an F-1 student visa.
