What's actually annoying about shopping for K-beauty products? (building something to fix it, want your honest take)

Hi everyone. we've been quietly building something in the K-beauty space for a while now. Before I go further, I wanted to actually ask the people who live this instead of guessing.

When you're shopping for Korean skincare: trying a new brand, restocking a holy grail, or just browsing , what's the most annoying part? A few things we're curious about, but genuinely want to hear whatever's on your mind:

  • How do you find out about new/indie K-beauty brands before they're everywhere? Where does that discovery usually happen (here, TikTok, a friend, a store)?
  • What makes you not trust a seller or site, even if the product looks legit?
  • Ingredient lists: Do you actually feel confident reading them, or is there a translation/jargon gap?
  • Shipping time, cost, or minimums ever stop you from buying something you wanted?
  • Is there a "I wish someone would just build X" thing you've said out loud about K-beauty shopping?

No product pitch here, we're just trying to build something useful and would rather get this right than guess. Happy to share back what we learn from this thread once we've got a good sample of responses
