Books where the main character hits rock bottom and comes out with new hope à la The Wedding People

I really enjoyed The Wedding People by Alison Espach, despite mixed reviews. Looking for something similar where the MC (preferably female but open) hits rock bottom but by the end had some sort of arc where they are on solid ground again, or trending upwards. Lit fic, romance, mystery, idc. I just downloaded Really Good, Actually by Monica Heisey. Did not finish Eleanor Oliphant.

I'm so mad about Beautiful Ugly and The Push

I'm so sick of trying the hot, recommended thriller. What is wrong with me that I don't like what's supposed to be a hit? I hated both of these but I spent so many hours of my life on them. Forever chasing the high of Gone Girl I suppose. Just venting, happy 4th to the Americans 🫶
