Car insurer asking me to fill out a cancellation form and request cancelling optional insurance

So on Friday I renewed the insurance for my MB Sprinter van. I went through ICBC for the mandatory provincial insurance but I got a better quote from “Insurer B” via their website on collision and comprehensive. So I went ahead and filled out the forms, made my payment for the year, and received the policy documents from them.

Today I received an email from a customer service rep at “Insurer B” informing me that they don't normally cover Sprinters. The email included a blank cancellation form and the CS rep requested that I fill out the form in full and request that they cancel my policy, they would then refund my credit card. My question is what happens if I don't do this? Is the insurance still valid because they sold it to me and sent me the policy documents? If they are just going to drop me why not go ahead and do that instead of making me fill out a lengthy form to cancel the policy?

The quote form requires filling out the make, model, year, and VIN of the vehicle being insured so it's weird that they don't just block the process there, never mind actually selling the insurance to me.
