I'm going to be 63 in a couple weeks, and have been in IT support over 30 years and have a BS in CIS. I lost a good job last year when the company's contract didn't get renewed. It took over 6 months for me to get another job at 2/3 the pay and the job description was deceptive. That job lasted only 4 months. I apply for jobs everyday, sometimes several times a day and also get contacted by recruiters. I had a phone interview scheduled for today, but then got a notification that they weren't going forward and cancelled. I'm an excellent employee, always on time, never slacking on the job or scrolling on my phone.

If I apply for early retirement now, it will only be 1209 a month! I believe when employers/recruiters see I've got over 30 years experience, I feel like my resume is immediately discarded.

Had anyone else had this experience and what did you go?
