Ensoniq ESQ1 midi problems

I am using a midi to usb controller cord, it supports sysex and I am setting “ ss+sx “ as the midi config. Midi OX and other softwares do not detect any activity from the keyboard. The solder points look to be in good shape too, but still nothing
