I've got a long-term goal of making the BT Tower in London, including its iconic 360° InfoBand display. This is my initial test to see if it might be possible.

To preempt some questions, it's not a true "animation" and is in effect a zoetrope illusion. Impact on GPU is low as these are just two cylinders nested inside one another, the inner having had emissive and rotation effects applied.

Unfortunately the effect culls very quickly as you zoom out, so I need to do more testing to see if I can bend the LOD and alpha clipping systems to my advantage to make the effect more visible at the distances you're actually likely to see the screen at in your cities.

I make Cities: Skylines II assets in my spare time as a creative outlet and recently took on a charity commission to make the Belcher Residence.

Being a fan, I loaded it up with easter eggs like the “Grand Reopening” banners (5% chance any one will spawn), 20 different Burger of the Day chalkboards, an animated BURGERS neon sign, and the shadow of Louise’s ears in the window above the door.

Originally housing the headquarters of Willen Key and Hardware Co, Willen House was first constructed in 1948 to replace a war-damaged building. It underwent significant restoration, extension, and refurbishment in 2025-2026 to transition it into a full-service student housing block.

This recreation has been slightly narrowed to better fit within the scale of the game, nestling neatly into a 6x5 plot. It features functional motorcycle and bike parking at the front, and an outdoor gym at the rear.

Bob's Burgers is a restaurant owned by Bob and Linder Belcher, conveniently located on Ocean Avenue in "Seymour's Bay", New Jersey. It is located in a property, rented from their eccentric landlord Mr Fischoeder, that also contains the family's apartment.

This signature mixed-use building includes a lightly modelled interior, an animated neon sign, 20 possible Burger of the Day chalkboards, and three "Grand Opening" banners with variable spawn probabilities.

I’ve continued to poke around the vanilla parking assets and have added two functional props for motorcycle and bicycle parking rails that are typical to London and the UK.

The update also includes static prop variants, a flagstone pavement surface, and a bonus bollard to keep things interesting.

I’ve just published an update to my London Street Furniture - Prop Pack in anticipation of an upcoming asset.

Designed by Pritchard Themis and manufactured by Phi Lighting, the Restless Course was installed on the corner of Scrutton and Clifton Streets in Shoreditch, London in 2018.

The clock fascia is constructed from 4mm thick stainless steel that has had a peened finish. Sitting proudly of the fascia is 60 number raised “hands” or cleats constructed from 8mm thick stainless steel that has been brushed in a random fashion. The hands are backlit from behind by sixty number linear RGB units that are individually controlled.

Faithfully recreated in-game, this asset was devised as part of a series of proofs of concept to test the capabilities of the editor's multi-emissive and animation capabilities, and will be included as an example asset in a forthcoming Community Guide on the Modding Wiki to help you step you through adding emissive animations to your own assets.

This is a recreation of a piece of public art near me called the Restless Course it uses metal louvers and controllable LED strips to create a clock face out of light. Using the game’s multi-emissive pipeline and the procedural clock animations, I’ve managed to recreate it in-game (and it tracks actual in-game time).

I still need to manually tweak the intensity/brightness of some of the colours, and the transition between each colour is much smoother in-game rather than in the editor, but it’s great to see some of the power available in the game’s editor.

I've been toying with some ideas for the game's multi-emissive pipeline involving animated neon signs and decided to create a test using something from one of my favourite shows. Managed to crack it tonight and get the animation sequenced and timed correctly!

This opens up a huge opportunity for in-game, light-based animations. I'll look to document it as a community page on the modding wiki once I get a chance.
