Reoccurring dream

I used to have dreams every night of being trapped in tight places or being forced to go through a tight space that’s too small for me to fit though. Along with those dreams were my partner cheating on me, me begging for his attention (I would be crying and screaming in my sleep.) I was prescribed medication for those dreams though and now every single night I have a similar dream.

I dream of traveling. Sometimes we make it to the destination, sometimes not. But I always end up at a beach. I’m always going toward the ocean in my dreams. When I get there, it’s always beautiful. There’s wildlife and people. Sometimes we have to hike to the beautiful part but never make it.

Every time we’re on an airplane it seems like there’s something that reroutes us or whatever but we don’t make it. Not something traumatic or anything, we just don’t get to the destination.

Sometimes I’m in a hotel or an apartment complex. Just trying to find a room or my room.

Idk every night it’s along the same lines. What does this mean??

Child’s other parent

My son (9) has been asking about why he doesn’t spend more time with his dad. Making statements like “it’s been a long time since I’ve seen my dad” or “when can I see my dad?”
His father doesn’t ask about him, doesn’t ask to speak with him and more importantly only asks for him on holidays that are in relation to him (father’s day, etc.) No other time does he ask for him.
I need help explaining this to my son without being insensitive or blatantly telling him that his father doesn’t even ask about him.
How in the world do I navigate this without being insensitive to my son?
