Should I email?
I mailed the final document needed to complete my application a week ago (US naturalization certificate). Do you guys think it’s worthwhile to email the BVA and ask for confirmation that they received it or should I not bother? I mailed my only copy of it and it would be kind of a pain in the ass to get a new one + would delay receiving my certificate if I only find out its lost when they finally review my case eta next year or two.

Laptop help (and sadness)
I’m an electrical engineering student. So I’ve attached 3 photos. The first photo is the state of my current laptop, my beloved 2022 Asus rog zephyrus I got for like $700 😢. As you can see the padding is fried and the terminal for the battery connector ripped off. Laptop has no signs of life, that includes lights. I could either replace the motherboard for $1100 (lol!) or find somebody that knows how to micro solder and pay them to fix it.
The second photo is the laptop I bought to replace it. Its cool and all, and I like the 32 gb of ram but why the fuck they making laptops with ONLY ONE USB A PORT? I use a usb stick in all of my labs and also a usb mouse so it’s kind of inconvenient even with a usb hub. I can see it being kind of annoying.
The third photo is my other option. I can go back and return this laptop and buy the other one. It’s got only 16 gb of ram which honestly should be enough? Worst comes to worse I can upgrade it because I don’t beliebe its soldered. I think it also just has more modern ports (even the hdmi) which I value for data transfer and stuff. Stylus + touchscreen is a bonus but I already have a bluetooth Wacom tablet I use for classes so not completely necessary.
Idk what do you guys think? Repair the zephyrus and pray it doesnt break again, keep the one I bought in the second photo or return it and get the third option? I feel like the only reason I should keep the one I bought is the 32 gb of ram and the fact that its NOT a “2-in-1” because I think those are more prone to hinge problems. But so far I haven’t had issues with 16 gb of ram in my old laptop. I use LTSpice, kicad and matlab.

Preparing for the TUM Power Engineering Masters entrance exam?
The TÜM website hardly gives any information on the power engineering masters entry exam. I’m currently an electrical engineering student in the USA so it makes me worried that the exam also consists of mechanical engineering concepts. So, has anyone here taken the exam and could share their experience? How hard should I study mechE concepts and how hard is it to reach the 45/55 mark to skip the interview phase?

Hair stylists for punks
I’m a student and I spend most of the year in Buffalo, NY, but I grew up on Long Island and I’m back here now. Every time I get my hair cut here they never get it right and its expensive asf, meanwhile when I get my hair cut in Buffalo (specifically these places called Oak & Iron and Atomic Barbershop) they do exactly what I want for a fair price ($40-$60). Now I know I probably won’t be able to get Buffalo prices on Long Island… but could anyone recommend at least a place that offers a similar vibe? That is, LGBTQ+ friendly and specializes in alternative hairstyles? I am located in Nassau County. Thanks yall.

I feel blind sighted
Ive always had issues eating and I’ve always been a bit pukey but whatever the fuck this CHS shit is got me fucked up. Puking from 6 pm to 6 am on Friday into Saturday in the ER and these past 2 days I barely remember. I still feel so sick and I’m terrified of eating but I’m not puking anymore. I’m a college student and I have to move out and drive home 8 hours by myself within a week. I’m so scared and alone and weak. I don’t know what to do.
