Does Chicago have a lot of financial services technology roles at the moment?

Hi all. I'm a web developer from Denver and am not having much traction in the job market here. I have some experience working in the financial services sector though, so am wondering if it's worth exploring opportunities like that in Chicago given that the city is a major financial hub. How's the market for roles like that right now? Thanks for any info!

Ways to signal openness to other fields besides your main field?

Hello all. I'm not having a lot of traction finding work in my current field (web development), so I'm considering other careers to pivot to. The Open to Work settings only let you list five job titles though. Are there other ways to signal to recruiters openness to opportunities that you might be qualified for but don't directly overlap with your main industry? For instance, are there ways you can write your About section that would help with this? Thanks for any tips!

Anyone having luck getting web dev roles in the Denver area right now?

Hi all. I live in Denver and have web development experience, including a lengthy contract role at a bank and contributions to a variety of volunteer projects. I got laid off a few years ago and have had very little traction in the market since then, despite working with a career coach and trying a number of different strategies. I'm trying to gauge how the market is here versus in other areas of the country, and I'm hearing lots of conflicting information about it. Wondering if anyone has had success getting a role like this in the area? Thanks!

How's the web dev job market in Denver, CO?

Hi all. I'm in Denver and have a background in web development. I had a lengthy contract role with a bank and have worked extensively on volunteer web development projects. A few years ago I got laid off and have had very little traction in the job market since, despite working with a career coach and networking inside the industry. I know the market is pretty bad overall, but in my case I'm not sure if it's my skills or if this is a bad area to be looking in right now. Any insights on how the Denver market is compared to other areas of the country? Thanks!

Electronics hobbyist groups around Denver?

I'm interested in learning more about electronics and getting hands-on involvement with projects. Are there hobbyist groups or makerspaces in the Denver/Boulder area where you can collaborate with other people to build things? I did a search and am aware of denhac, but wondering if there are many others that are active. The scene appears surprisingly sparse and I'm wondering if I'm overlooking something. Thanks!

Fiber user, getting increased connection drops recently

I have T-Mobile Fiber home internet near Denver, CO. Using a Calix GigaSpire GS7 10GE router and Nokia XS-010X-Q ONT. Been noticing several connection drops over the last week, sometimes lasting several minutes. Anyone else experiencing this or aware of any network-wide issues that could be causing it? Thanks.

Clicky spacebar on Lenovo 9i Yoga?

Hello all. I'm trying out an open box Lenovo 9i Yoga 2 in 1 laptop. I notice the spacebar on it has a very pronounced, sharp "click" sound when I press it versus the other keys. It works fine otherwise. If you have this laptop, do you notice the same thing? Wondering if it's normal or an indication of something with the switches. Thanks!
