How to put up with passive aggressive and prejudiced (Possibly ) coworker

So I work at Aeon and unfortunately ive landed in a well bad branch of the school. Students are nice in general. Kids are sensitive but okay. Manager is sweet and helps with so many things. Its the head Japanese teacher with whom just 1 month into my contract , I had a blow up with.

Im Half Indian and Half South European from but very clearly brown. Ive noticed this particular Japanese teachers attitude with me has been strange. She often starts banging things almost deliberately around me and constantly clearing her throat. Also muttering stuff like " Kuroi " when passing me or "kowaii" .

Today I got annoyed during a meeting. She mentioned complaints about me which I understood. She claims I dont do things in my class that im meant to but she hasn't even sat in any classes. I then said im sure the kids know im a new teacher. Then she rudely say " nononono, we've NEVER had a complaint about a new teacher. Keep in mind im a fresh new teacher about a month in Aeon.

Sad thing is Im starting to love the city in. Its in Kyushuu but I wont dox myself as to where. I really in my 4 total years in Japan dont understand why people are still being treated badly based on color and looks. . And the messed up thing is my life at school and outside school is different. I dont want to have to now search for a new job in a whole new city. But yeah this particular teacher has been here for 20 and it doesnt look like shes leaving.

How do you all deal with aggressive , micromanaging coworkers ? And who else has experienced racism at work ?

What does fine features mean?

Someone described me as having fine and angular features but people on aesthetic forums say I have sharp features. I find saying angular is contradictory to fine and ive always been told I have strong features too. All those contradict each other.

What exactly makes someone feminine or " androgynous?

So ive alwaysbeen told I " look like a woman " but never understand why. Im tall ,have broad shoulders and have a square face with sharp features which are typically associated with males. I dress very conventionally masculine in fashion. Despite all this I keep getting mistaken as a woman or transgender or a womam pretending to be a man

Based on my pictures , why may this be ?

Is it just me or is Miyazaki(Or Kyushu) just like this ?

Hi everyone. Ive been in Japan for about 4 years and I just moved to Miyazaki two weeks ago. Ive lived in 2 other places latest being Sagamihara , Kanagawa and before that Utsunomiya, Tochigi.

Long story short ive enjoyed Japan enough to stay and when my company offered me a position in Miyazaki I thought , hey im currently single, not tied down and adventurous so why not. Initially it looked great and it sells itself on being this vibrant, friendly and tropical surfer city which is just up my street. From the vibes it looks like it sells itself as "Japans Hawaii or Guam " on the mainland. Despite having been sad to leave my community of friends in Sagamihara and the general Kanto region behind, I was excited to change the scene to something more laid-back and relaxing.

Im of South East Asian and White South African descent if that matters for context and my skin is very brown also due to me being an outdoors and beachy person. I would say most who know me would describe me as unproblematic, social, respectful and nice to be around and im always someone who likes to I also take my self care and fitness seriously. I have had my personal issues which ive been working on throughout the years but in general that would not show up in day to day life.

Fast forward to 2 weeks later, me sitting on my futon typing this post. To keep it simple , Miyazaki has been awful for me so far. I find the people extremely impolite and nasty. Like ill just be walking down the street minding my own business and people do not hold back from insulting me. Like its either " クロ" , " 怖い " or "ふとい" or " キモ" . The most hilarious one was me being called "ガリガリ" and " 太井" or on the same day because how can I be scrawny and big at the same time? And besides those comments , just general dirty looks and such. People at work have been nice and my students have been amazing. But like leaving the house seems to be " Roasting Open Season " on me. I would DEFINITELY not describe myself as attractive by Japanese male beauty standards , but not some ungoldy gremlin worth insulting on the street . I have worked on my self enough to know that I look clean cut and presentable. According to those I know I do have a strong and sharp boned face which could come across as harsh to some but nothing extreme which should cause a disturbance. In other words according to myself and my friends whom ive talked to about it , theres nothing about me and the way I act which would warrant these reactions in public.

Now im not gonna cope and say I didnt face racism and have some issues in other places in Japan , which is did but the majority of my experiences were good and I had an active friend group and church community and had no issues dating so those things kind of overrides the things I did face. I do see posters of the new PM up everywhere so not sure if its just a very right wing city.

TLDR: Im finding Miyazaki very xenophobic and the people very negative and prejudice despite me being very compliant, polite and calm. Is it just me or are Miyazaki people generally like this ?

EDIT : Ofcourse there are nice people. Old peoe have been especially nice and the students at school are really cool. Its just i experience so much negativity here that its enough to mention.
