Is the Upgradation automatic in BSc(Hons)?

I wanna know that whether will we be given an option to choose upgradation of the subject or not?

Cuz I got zoology which was in the third priority and now I wanna lock it in.

I don't want the course on the second and first place on my preference list anymore

Is there a way I can lock it in so that it doesn't upgrade??

Why course is ZYBLAG in BSc(Hons)? Is it Zoology?

So, I searched th syllabus and curriculum if department of zoology, but even that doesn't list it.....

Does someone know what it is?

Btw, the firm list hasn't been released but the course offered is showing up on the counselling portal.

Any strict professors in the Biochem for BSc?

Like are there any professor that are strict? Or like unreasonably arrogant and self centred, ones that students should look out for??

And, are there any good professors in terms of likeability? Like some that are understanding and well respected among students for their good behaviour??

This post is not meant to shame or insult any teachers or professors, all of them are deserving of respect that they are entitled to.

I just wanna know is there are some that I should look out for in advance, so like, i can get info and stuff related to research, Interships, projects, workshops etc etc....

If i opt for upgradation, could the subject i got go lower? or can it only for higher?

So, if I am doing BSc(Hons) counselling and I got a subject that was second in my preference list,

Then I opt for upgradation, now, in the next round,

Is there a possibility that the I might get a seat in a subject from an even lower place in the preference list??

For example

If my list is (1)Biochem (2) IndusChem (3) Zoology

And I get IndusChem in the first round,

Now I apply for Upgradation...

Now in the second round, can only get either Biochem or the same IndusChem, OR is there also a possibility of falling down further and getting Zoology??

Is there a risk like that?

Hit the slope, and now I just keep going down. Don't even know anymore, Say anything if you like, please.

Welp,I have come at a point where I no longer seem to have the ability to understand or decide.Life was great in 10th,then I took PCB and shifted school, maybe I wasn't able to adapt, maybe I was unaware, maybe it was the syllabus,or just me myself. It doesn't matter anymore,I faced a downhill, thought I would make it better in 12th,decided to go for a coaching, but then convinced myself Online is the way for me.It is okay at first, then I got one backlog, cleared it,but got more, changed to 2.0,was going good, still backlogs,I can't even remember the reason or excuse anymoreIt didn't go well,I didn't study anything the whole December and January, overall the whole year barely studied any Organic,&Inorganic, others were done ig,tho didn't properly do Biotech and few physics chaps

My board had an option for Boards 2nd for 12th too,was thinking I should just go along 1st board and do better in 2nd boards,(welp, didn't it cuz I got 85% in board 1st somehow)After boards, don't eve remember if I even studied fr May3rd,I convinced myself that I can do it with one Drop. Then a week later,my father lost consciousness, got admitted to an ICU,and passed away a week later, without ever waking up.

It was a sudden shock,I still can't believe something that big happened with me.Very grateful, that my extended family helped us out in a lot of ways,my uncs Even told me to just focus on my studies,my mother readily accepted to take up a job(tho she can't do it for a couple months, cuz of religious reasons)They told you just need to worry about your academics, don't think about working rn.I thought, that now, being the eldest son,I would get more responsible with myself.NOTHINGdid not study barely ANYTHING for reNEET I could give excuses that the incoming relatives coming to visits my mother were a reason, but that would be another excuse,I could have easily made a lot of time to study if I wanted to.Now,back in April,I gave an entrance exam for BSc(Hons) and got selected,my mother wanted me to take a partial drop and prepare for NEET,I at first tried convincing her that partial drop would be too hectic and I couldn't even do it with 12th,so I doubt I can do it with BSc,she straight up refused, told me I HAVE to take the seat I could leave it after a month or two if I can't manage Later,I got convinced, cuz being a college student I would get a lot of benefits like access to the uni library and student email etc I thought I would take the online dropper batch, cuz offline are too expensive and would clash with college timings. But, she told me...that"You took online in 12th, but you didn't do anything, now you won't do anything again, so why should I waste money"She said wait for the reNEET results, but.I won't get anything, I know that, cuz I have scored barely around ~300 I tried telling her that reNEET result will take time and I would've missed a lot of classes by then. She told me just cover the missed classes while attending live ones.I felt infuriated at that, maybe it was ptsd from all th backlogs in 12th,even my drop prep starting with a backlog demotivated me,I got

They told you just need to worry about your academics, don't think about working rn.

I thought, that now, being the eldest son, I would get more responsible with myself. NOTHING

did not study barely ANYTHING for reNEET

I could give excuses that the incoming relatives coming to visits my mother were a reason, but that would be another excuse, I could have easily made a lot of time to study if I wanted to.

Now, back in April, I gave an entrance exam for BSc (Hons) and got selected, my mother wanted me to take a partial drop and prepare for NEET, I at first tried convincing her that partial drop would be too hectic and I couldn't even do it with 12th, so I doubt I can do it with BSc, she straight up refused, told me I HAVE to take the seat I could leave it after a month or two if I can't manage

But, she told me...that "You took online in 12th, but you didn't do anything, now you won't do anything again, so why should I waste money"

She said wait for the reNEET results, but...

I won't get anything, I know that, cuz I have scored barely around ~300

I tried telling her that reNEET result will take time and I would've missed a lot of classes by then. She told me just cover the missed classes while attending live ones...

I felt infuriated at that, maybe it was m ptsd from all th backlogs in 12th, even my drop prep starting with a backlog demotivated me, I got scared.

But, maybe she wasn't very wrong, all she saw from the day her husband left the world was her son, who used to study a lot in 10th and gradually less in th two following years, just not study anything.

I can't blame her for losing trust, cuz I did really no study anything, for the past month, she never saw me study, she only saw me sitting idly or looking at my phone (I was researching about BSc Hons and other stuff liek scholarships, career paths, etc etc)

But now, even after all this, if I wanted, I could talk to her, and explain to her with an open heart that I won't get anything this year (said it half heartedly and not in a good way before) and beg her to understand and buy me the batch, heck I could even study and complete chapters on my own till she buys it for me after the result. I could even watch the lectures on telegram if I want to.

But NOTHING I am just standing still in life.

Now I am not even sure if I even want to go in this field, cuz I can see how hectic, stressful and demanding it is. Can I even handle the pressure of MBBS, if I couldn't even handle 12th?

I think like this and then think about doing BSc "seriously" and expand my skillset and get a good future through BSc, I make plans like doing a certificate course or diploma alongside BSc through distance in order to expand my CV

And then I look at my classmates, my cousin sister, they are still set on NEET, tho they are facing setbacks, some of them haven't even started studying yet for 2027, but even then,

They still want to do NEET, for one reason or another, now idk why I even said this, I mean what others do shouldn't matter to me, I look at myself, and focus on myself.....but

Should I just give up? What if regret I later? What if BSc doesn't take me anywhere? Won't I wish I could go back in time and do NEET, like I wish rn for 11th and 12th?

But.

What if I can't even do MBBS properly? What if I regret doing NEET?

And i am just an indecisive, guy, sitting idly, nothing to even watch or enjoy in my phone or on the internet, and not even starting to properly study. Just let the time pass by, looking for small things to distract myself

You know what, I have gotten good at not thinking. I cnw just not think about it

That is why I haven't even felt any stress after 10th, I used to stress a lot in 10th, but after that, I studied a lot for the 11th entrance exam of the school I shifted to, but then, I just still stressing, I felt it might be a burn out, I tried taking a break and many other things, but

Nothing worked in the end

And, here I am now thinking between NEET, BSc, and not doing anything.

I should prolly see a mental health expert.

I am capable enough to do that on my own, and get free diagnosis cuz of my student benefits....

But. Then again, I still don't do it.

Idk why I even wrote this post, maybe to rant, get it off my chest, or just another way to pass time fast.

Thanks somehow if you read so far

Do say something in the comments of you like, I would love to hear anything at all

Lost my Father, now in need of a Scholarship for UG

my_qualifications : 12th passed in 2026 with PCB

I lost my father a couple weeks ago, we were from a middle class family and he was the only source of income.

Currently the income is at zero

My mother will prolly look for a job in the future, she won't allow to work and wants me to focus on my education, I'll still take up some part time gig for my own expenses

She can't work for a couple months because of religious reasons..

So I was hoping to find some scholarship that help me with my College Fees (college starts in around August)

But the thing is a few scholarships i found in the past require like an income certificate to prove the income, but my household is at zero income at the moment...

And please also share some scholarships that I can apply to.

Thanks a lot for reading

Does BSc Geology and MSc Geology in AMU require Maths??

I heard some top colleges don't let you take admission in MSc Geology if you don't have Maths in 12th, is it the same for AMU?

Does AMU even allow us to take BSc (Hons). Geology if I am from PCB stream??

Please help me choose between BSc (Hons) Geology and BSc (Hons) Industrial Chemistry

Please help me choose between BSc(Hons) Geology and BSc(Hons) Industrial Chemistry

I am a PCB student who just passed 12th this year and I am getting a BSc (hons) course in Aligarh Muslim University. India.

I have placed biochemistry at the top in my preference list but I might not be able to get it because of my rank and high cut off of biochem so I need some advice on what I should place on the second place

My options are geology or industrial chemistry

But I am just so confused I tried researching on reddit and other places and I saw some demotivating stuff about pursuing geology, I have also heard some not good stuff about industrial chemistry.

I am just very confused on what I should choose in between the two.

Also, I may or may not use the first year of my BSs(Hons) as a partial drop for neet preparation.......

But still I would be really grateful any advice I can get regarding what subject I should choose between geology and industrial chemistry

Is my CE category still valid if my parent passed away?

So, like, while registering for the entrance exam of bsc hons, I put in CE special category, cuz my parent was an AMU employee. But my parent , who was the employee of AMU passed away by the time the result of bsc hons got announced. So, now, am i still eligible for CE category during counseling? or am i just a general now?

I am internal and I got selected in both general list and special category list.

How is the Biochemistry Department of AMU ?

Hello there, I am about to join it for BSC hons Biochemistry

I have a few questions. Would Greatly appreciate any answers

How are the professors like in terms of teaching quality, accessibility, and student support?

How active is the department in research, and internships?

How easy it is to get a Internship or become part of a research project (asking as in the first year)

Do I have to approach a Professor and ask him to make me a part of his project?

Any recommended places for internship to get some good experience and skill?

When do Interships and Research Project usually begin so I can know when to apply.....?

How is student culture and peer group?

Any pros, cons, or things one should know before joining?

Does University Health Services provide free medicine to School students?

I heard that AMU has a place called University Health Services near MAS that provides free check up and medicine to students that are in classes above 10th. Is that true? Where is it located exactly? Do I need to take something with me other than my school ID card?

I was planning on going there to get my recurring mouth ulcers checked up
