Can someone explain to me this one part of this speedpaint?

I watched a speedpaint and I’m kinda new to art so I’m trying to figure out how people do stuff, but I came across this one part where the artist says they put down flat colors in each layer and then use a multiply layer to give it a shadow effect, my problem is how he manages to then render the eyes and other parts seemingly with an alpha lock but without getting affected by multiply. Ive spent hours trying to decipher it but Im very frustrated right now and would like to know how they managed to do it

Bolt’s design is so terrible that simple nerf numbers won’t balance him. He needs a rework and this might help

We all know new brawlers when released are purposefully made strong to incentivize people to spend money and max them out, however, with Bolt, not only are his numbers ridiculous, but the main problem resides within his design as a brawler. Unlike most recent brawlers, you can nerf his numbers again and again, and you will not have a balanced Bolt, you will either end up with a terrible brawler, rotting in F tier or an overpowered one, making the game miserable for others. Personally I think Bolt needs a rework

Who thought about giving shields and damage reduction to a tank who already has lots of hp and is the fastest brawler in the game? It’s objectively a terrible design. Those sustain traits like healing and shields or %dmg reduction, should be given to brawlers who without it, they would be extremely vulnerable and useless, for example, Edgar and Mortis. Take away their sustain and they are F tier brawlers. Bolt on the other hand, doesn’t need all that sustain on top of his speed, hp and other traits. He can dodge attacks easily because of his speed, and his hp should be more than enough

Bolt should be a Controller Tank, relying on his speed and hp to tank and using his super to pressure/zone enemies, that’s why he leaves a trail of damage, as well as assisting with some CC. His “Toss Up” SP fits him perfectly. Should he do damage? Yes, every brawler should be able to deal some form of damage, but unless your whole thing is to deal damage, you shouldn’t be able to just one shot people as a tank. He already has damage reduction, his shield is unnecessary. His “bouncy ball” gadget is very well designed, but Oil Change is so broken that why would you use it? Remove his “Oil Change” gadget for something that would help him with what he is good at. Maybe able to control his movement freely for a few seconds without breaking his speed to maneuver through certain obstacles better. Nerf his damage, we can keep the damage reduction but either nerf the damage reduction % or reduce his hp. His cc immunity rework is way better than before, and now it’s more balanced, him being immune to his weakness for a second shouldn’t be too frustrating and would demand Bolt to know when to go in and possibly win a game, not just mash super and go brrr. From this point, he could be balanced way better and buffed or nerfed according to the circumstances

-Nerf Damage

-Nerf Hp or Dmg Reduction

-Replace “Oil Change” gadget

-Balance him around being a “Tank Controller”

Brawl stars really doesn’t know how to design brawlers anymore, they have a solid idea, but then mess it up by thinking that removing their weaknesses and slapping unnecessary stuff is somehow “balancing them”. He can be reliable, fun to play and strong without having to be broken or useless

Surge is a unique brawler that gets all his skill and intended design shafted by how op he is balanced to be

Surge is a unique snowball brawler with a high risk = high reward play style but ultimately im disappointed by how he is balanced. IMO Surge should require skill and good positioning, especially during the first 2 stages when you are meant to be a mid brawler at best. You are weak at first but he can become very powerful if played correctly, demanding skill to become stronger by rewarding survival to level up, and any mistake can get you all the way back to Stage 1. The problem is that any effort and intended weakness that should come with it, gets completely thrown out of the window by how overtuned he is. Not to mention his SP that allows him to straight up skip his first stage for free, alongside his op gadgets and fast super cycling, it makes access to his ”strong form” so laughably easy and imo takes away the skill and essence of the brawler.

Sure he might be a glass cannon on paper, but all these things make him effectively "invincible". You just excel at so much stuff like team wiping and 1v1s so easily for free without having to actually work yourself up to that point, not even mentioning his hyper charge and his buffies. So what's the point of having a weakness, if we are just gonna skip that weakness altogether? Imagine if Clancy could just skip a stage for free.

You have no weakness, you just sit on top of the meta. Maybe people would argue he works better now and is just op, but to me Surge execution falls short beyond just numbers

I don’t know why but Yasuo specifically tends to be difficult for me, even more so than match ups that hard counter me, but people say Yasuo match up isn’t that hard so I try to fight him often but I just get f**cked. If much I don’t let him get fed, but I don’t do successful trades with him. idk if he overwhelms me, but I don’t know how to lane against him. His passive seems to mitigate poking, his barrier can pretty much deny my whole Q burst, his constant dashing makes it hard to land Qs, all together makes it annoying and I just end up playing super safe. I made this post after laning against a Yasuo and he went Deaths Dance first item and I just got fed up. Idk how to fight this match up without feeling like he just screws me. It feels like there Isn’t Much I can’t do besides roam
