R.I.P. B. War!

Surprised no one else has posted this...

"Comradeship Through Blood and Iron

It is with the deepest regret that we announce the passing of our former bass player, friend and comrade, Roger "Bogge" Svensson (1965–2026), better known as B. War... The memories remain.

Which of your metal heroes has disappointed you the most over the years?

Picture unrelated.

I love Mustaine, but him refusing to allow Metallica to release his demos is a sore point. Hopefully they get that sorted one day.

Also, the fact he has allowed the 2004 remix of Rust in Peace to be the "definitive" version in public consciousness is a national scandal.

Only thing on my list is the Live at DNA Official Bootleg, but it's pretty rare.

Urgent Advice Needed: I've just been banned from my local high street music retailer for removing false metal from the metal section

Popped in today to see if they had the latest Warning, Khemmis and Witching Hour albums (they didn't!), and whilst perusing the shelves, I was disgusted to find a load of false metal garbage displaying prominently in the METAL section.

So I took it upon myself to grab a basket and fill it with as much of this nonsense as possible and then move it to it's rightful section (Pop/Rock).

Whilst transferring it to the shelves, I got a tap on the shoulder. It was the security guard and the manager. They asked what I was doing and I said I was putting the right music in the right section. The manager picked up a Linking Park CD I had in the basket and said "This WAS in the right section - metal."

I was fuming at this point, so called her a poser. She then said I was BANNED and told me to leave. I was escorted out of the shop by the security guard who I suspect was also a poser.

I've already emailed head office but wondering what my legal rights are here.

Does anyone else just constantly get this error after finishing a match? [STEAM]

Been playing since launch on Steam Deck. Game runs pretty well for the most part, but i just always get this error after finishing a match on MyFaction. It seems to be getting worse/more frequent since launch and It's absolutely infuriating as you lose the match rewards.

I've tried everything from fresh installs, changing protons, editing launch options, playing docked with a wired connection, connecting via hotspot and the issue still persists.

Seems to be worse on the Live Event matches and I've been trying to complete the eight Royal Rumble events. I've managed to unlock 3 of the card packs so far but I must have completed them about ten times.

Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?

I can't remember having this issue on 2K25 and I don't have an issue on any other online game using the Deck.

Sepultura/ Soulfly/ Max Cavalera - Collection

I was gonna include albums Max had guested on as well but I couldn't be arsed to dig them out. Anyway, over 40 years of great metal!

If you could flush one thing from the history of metal what would it be?

Album, song, band, artist, sub genre, moment...... what are you flushing away forever?

Football's most Metal moments

Or "soccer" for you Americans.

With the World Cup now in full swing, I can't think of a more opportune time to discuss the links and disconnects between metal and the beautiful game.

As a 40-something year old Brit who has been following football my entire life I can honestly say there has been minimal crossover with metal in my lifetime.

Iron Maiden have always represented the sport (and West Ham) well, but Saxon's embarrassing World Record attempt at Hillsbrough (https://youtu.be/0-Pp7YQBiCU?is=Gd\_ubHqRoa1fpV-5) highlighted the disconnect between the two cultures.

Football is arguably the most popular pasttime in the country and with Metal's more counter-culture vibe, they were just never really compatible bedfellows.

That all changed fairly recently when Aston Villa (and Birmingham City Council) started to realise there might be some money to be made in courting Black Sabbath/Ozzy and actually celebrating their status as the birthplace of metal.

It's now not uncommon to see Ozzy's face on a Villa tifo or hear Crazy Train played over the stadium pa. To my knowledge, Ozzy has never expressed a huge passion for football, but Geezer ia big Villa fan and has also done some marketing work with the club. It's also become more common place to hear stuff like Enter Sandman on stadium playlists.

The first picture is of a lower league Argentinian player who would occassionally take to the field in corpse paint. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dar%C3%ADo\_Dubois). I'm curious to see if football and metal are more closely linked in other countries.

Urgent advice required: my friend has been secretly listening to false metal behind my back

My best friend passed me his phone so I could show him the latest J Dawg video on Youtube and when the search bar opened up on I saw recent searches for "LAST RESORT," "LOUDWIRE," "SPINESHANK" and "PEOPLE EQUAL SHIT."

Not sure i can be friends with a poser. What should I do?

Who remembers the good old days of Blabbermouth.net?

For those too young or unaware - before social media turned the Internet to complete shit, Blabbermouth.net was THE go to place for metal/hard rock fans and artists.

Launched and run by prominent metal journalist Bori Krgin (and later hosted by Roadrunner records), it featured news, reviews, interviews, press releases, tour announcements and industry data.

Whilst news articles were detailed and informative, it sometimes had a tabloid vibe and wasn't shy of stirring up any controversy that occurred.

Most famously, it featured a lively and often unhinged comment section which would occasionally draw the ire of prominent musicians, some of which would post comments in retaliation.

Blabbermouth still exists and I've checked it every day for over 20 years, but it's place in the industry is sadly diminished and it got rid of the comments section at least a decade ago.

For all the drama it caused, it's a shame metal no longer has a go-to, leading news site that brought fans and artists together for good and bad.

Live Metal compilations

Really recommend the Gigantour ones if you can find them. They sound great. The Roadrunner United concert is another good one as well..

Just arrived - anyone given it a full listen yet?

Nearly 50 tracks. Quite daunting. Might take a few sessions to fully soak it in. Wasn't massively into the singles but it's unlikely to be that sort of album.

Who will continue the fight against false metal once the old guard have all passed on?

https://youtu.be/P-YZPA9Iyvs?si=DHt10cDbIOB3HZpn

I was recently reminded of an old BBC report about this true metal warrior who carried the metal flag with pride and honour well into his old age. Sadly, he passed a few years after this report (R.I.P legend) but it got me thinking about about the future of metal now that it's been around long enough to outlive people.

Whilst there is still a loyal and dedicated legion of metal fans who continue to reject trends, posers and false metal prophets, who will be brave enough to carry on this battle once they pass on?
