Dutch House - Long island City

I was wondering if there are anyone living here that can provide any insights on the area and the building. I got selected to submit documents from Reside for a re-rental opportunity, but the google ratings for this apartment complex looks pretty bad.... 😢

Location is good I think (it is next to the N train), and the pictures looks nice but a bit unsure

would love to hear opinions

Would it be helpful to have a way to mark listings as applied?

What are your biggest pain points about the housing lottery?

New SettleNYC updates: NYS Housing Search listings and waitlist filters

I added several new features to SettleNYC:

  • NYS Housing Search listings are now available on the site.
  • Added Open and Waitlist filters.
  • Pronto buildings now show clear waitlist indicators.
  • Optional paid alerts are now available to help support the website and server costs long term.

Feedback is welcome!

If there is any other sources or features you would like me to pull into the website let me know 🐱

Thank you guys for the support!

SettleNYC Update

https://settlenyc.com

Added a re-rental filter + listings, plus some minor UI tweaks to SettleNYC.

Right now re-rentals are only syncing from NYCHDC. Let me know what you guys think.

If there's any platforms you would like to sync from please list them here and I'll see if I can automate them into the map 😺

Original Post

Edit: Reside should be live on the platform now too!
Edit 2: Unit Size filter also live now!
Edit 3: Unit preferences are now Opt-in and Opt-out (none selected meaning all opt-in)

SettleNYC

Hello,

I built an app called SettleNYC to make it easier to browse NYC Connect listings on a map. I always found the native NYC Connect experience a pain to navigate when trying to figure out where buildings actually are and how close they are to the train.

One thing I noticed while building this: some buildings/units show up as visible on their website but not yet applicable, likely still in a preliminary stage before they're officially posted. My app surfaces those too, which you can't easily see otherwise.

Let me know what you think: https://settlenyc.com

Would love feedback, and I want to keep iterating to make this more accessible for everyone. Some features I'm considering next:

  1. Email/text alerts for new buildings/units.
  2. Aggregating re-rental listings from other sites so everything shows up on one map. This is trickier than it sounds: people often post listings and don't take them down even after the unit is filled, so the data can get stale fast. Sites like StreetEasy and Facebook Marketplace also aren't easy to pull data from automatically, so this might end up being a more manual effort, at least to start.
  3. Auto-apply functionality. Still on the fence about this one since it involves storing sensitive personal data (profile info, auto-submitting applications). Curious what people think about the safety/privacy tradeoffs here before I build it.

Thank you in advance ^-^!
