Submitting For Lotteries While Currently Approved

Does anyone have experience on submitting for a lottery while already approved and in the process of trying to secure another unit? Specifically, I would need to update my salary, however it could put me out of the range of the unit that I've already accepted. Any advice would be helpful.

What do you do with old lotteries sitting in your pending?

I have lotteries I applied to in 2022 for example still in my pending listed as "applied". It annoys me to see my old applications with high log numbers and the lottery ended 3+ years ago.

Do folks withdraw from the old ones that clearly have occupants etc? Is there any favor to leaving it there? Curious what the recommended thing to do is. Thank you for any insight.

Anyone know anything about this building?

Hi Guys,

I originally applied for this lottery back in March of this year- they immediately sent me an application, I called the following month and they said all units were occupied.

Over the weekend I get an email to submit all documents by 8/18- I’m assuming an application fell through or someone backed out.

Does anyone have an idea on this building? Great area but I see that the building is mixed with supportive housing. I know there’s one in Dumbo available for immediate occupancy like this and I heard it was a nightmare. Any intel on W 108th would be appreciated!

Asset limits for in-building transfer

Does anyone who has transferred within their building (ex. studio to 1 bedroom, to a bigger unit), know if there are applicable asset limits for a transfer?

I know there is no income cap (just a minimum), but the agency hasn't responded to my questions around the latter yet.

Secondarily, how are the financial checks performed? Is there a background/official inquiry, or is it just a review of the submitted documentation? Thanks!

What’s up with the “poor door” at 325 Bond Street?

I just found out 325 Bond Street apparently has a “poor door” for the affordable units. I hadn’t really heard about this before.

Can someone explain how it actually works? Is it really a completely separate entrance/lobby for affordable tenants? Anyone who lives there or knows the setup, please fill me in because wtf lol.

505 State Street

I am potentially moving into a 1- bd apartment in this building and would like some recent reviews from former and current residents.

What are your pros and cons?

With everything being electric, what is your average monthly utility bill (summer/ winter)?

How is cooking on the induction stove?

Overall thoughts on management and staff team?

Willet points commons Timeline-Applying to Lease Signing

First and foremost, I just wanna thank God for this miracle. I have been praying for this for a long time and was on the verge of homelessness because I couldn’t afford NYC rent and was living in my dad’s basement. I asked and he answered and I’ll forever be grateful. And God bless all the people who worked on my file.
I always said if I ever get accepted, I would show my timeline so there it is.

Apply: 12/28/2025
Log number: between 200-300
NYC resident address, Studio or 1 Bed, %60 and %80 AMI

The day prior, I went to a church and asked God to help me find a place to stay and surely enough, the next day

**Documents requested:**06/22/2026
Note: I wasn’t checking the website regularly so I had no idea. I found out 10 days later and submitted my documents right away.

**Document submitted:**07/02/2026
Copy of Social Security
Copy of NY state ID
4 most recent paystubs
Bank Accounts (Checking and Savings)

Phone call interview: 07/16/2026
Note: I got a random phone call labeled “Spam” I almost didn’t pick it up but thank God I did. (**Make sure you always have your phone on you and pick it up.)**I did the phone call interview so they could fill out the “Tenant Income Certification ” TIC questionnaire. The interview took about 30 minutes.

Request for Additional Documents: 07/16/2026
I was asked to submit additional documents after the interview. Such as: Full Credit report or Proof of 12 months rent lease and signed TIC questionnaire from call interview

I submitted my full credit report using Experian and signed questionnaire

Phone call to schedule tour: 08/05/2026

Tour apartment date: 08/06/2026

Having an Issue With My Willets Point Commons Affordable Housing Application — Looking for Advice From Anyone Familiar With Housing Connect

I am seeking advice regarding my application for affordable housing at Willets Point Commons.

During the review process, the staff member handling my application asked me to provide false or inaccurate information. I refused this request and insisted on providing truthful information. Subsequently, I encountered difficulties with the processing of my application.

When I asked to switch to a different staff member, I was immediately informed that doing so would trigger a re-review of the application and complicate the entire process. I accepted this explanation at the time and did not proceed with the request to change staff members.
I had previously been informed that the applicant ahead of me had been rejected and that it was my turn for review.

However, after I refused to provide false information and submitted my documents, I was told that the unit had been assigned to the applicant ahead of me, and my application status was changed to "No Unit Available."

I am confused: given that I was previously told the applicant ahead of me had been rejected and it was my turn, why was I later informed—after refusing to provide false information—that the unit had been assigned to that same applicant?

I would like to know which department I can contact to request an independent review of this situation.

Has anyone successfully sublet their unit?

If you already have a NYCHA unit, have you subleased before? My lease says I can have a subletter for a max of 2 years so long as they meet the income requirement. But I’m wondering if this would unintentionally bring a new income certification if I want to live in the apartment again, after I sublease it to someone else
