Hello, i have a job in evansville, ive been working 3 weeks. Im looking for a place but i have some very specific needs:
* somewhere that will take my 9-10 years of rental history as an alternative to a credit check. I dont have anyone that can cosign for me. I dont have any credit cards. I will get one of course but if i get one tomorrow i know my credit will not be reliable enough to their liking. It takes a few months to barely get on the radar.
* preferably GOOD private landlords as i know they are a bit more flexible with credit stuff
* total rent AND utilities equal or below 900 / mth for a 1 br. Even if they are not together, please comment what you average in outlier utilities.
* job is downtown, but living nearby is not necessary. Preferably under 30 mins but again not necessary.
I have a spreadsheet with numbers included and will be going down the list today to call about credit check requirements.
If you have no recs for somewhere that has no credit checks or an alternative, please feel free to recommend somewhere decent that fits my other criteria as i can always check it against my soreadsheet and use that info for later after establishing credit.
Edit: clarity
Here is the recipe:
1 ½ half oz white tequila
½ oz lime juice
Splash of Sweet n sour
Splash of simple syrup
¼ to ½ oz of bacardi black
½ oz of triple sec
Built in glass then stirred
This was what i had a bartender make to taste for me to replicate something amazing i had in Chicago. Unfortunately i was too drunk to ask for the recipe and it took me about a year to figure out what he probably did that night.
Because i realized i like it way more when its rum forward and NOT tequila forward, heres a modification of the same recipe that i came up with today that i think might taste good too when i try it out:
1 oz bacardi black (almost any dark rum)
½ oz white tequila
½ oz lime juice
¼ - ½ oz of triple sec OR simple syrup
Top off with Club soda
The three names I've been bouncing around between are Double Homicide, Sleeper Agent, or Black Tide. Idrc if you think its corny lol i think corny can be cute! I won't say which one is my favorite 🤭Happy naming!!!
I start a new job dealing w state programs at month end. i always used to take what i wore to work seriously and followed black womens advice about not falling into the trap of looking too casual because you know goes for us black folk when we do. however im starting a new job where the dress code itself is extremely casual. Jeans and tee shirts are literally in the work dress code. even the biz cas looks i wore for my interviews was already way more formal than what they wore in the office. im scared that if i wear biz cas itll have the opposite effect and make them think i feel im better than them. what should i do? Im thinking to mimic what few of the ladies in the office wear whish is a cozy cardigan, slacks, sneakers and tee look.
Technically speaking, i like twists on hair thats not freshly washed the best. The definition in my twist out is always much better because it already has some product in it. Today, i focused on washing my scalp with my twists in and then i redid the twists and moisturized + used blue magic. It just sucks that theyll look nothing like this tmrw and when you remoisturize twists it makes them get frizzy :/ a slight frizz can be cute tho but then youre giving up twist out definition. So in the end it depends on the goal of your twists 😭
Maintainance tips welcome. I have a bonnets, head scarves, satin pillow cases etc but idk what could help preserve the fresh look
